Wondering if anyone has tried this tourney. The general idea is that half of the pot goes to regular payouts and the other half goes to a cashout payout, where you can cash out all or part of your stack prior to making the final table. At the final table all players receive their portion of the cashout pot according to their chip stack.
I took a look at one with a $2 entry and compared it (931 entries) against a regular one (809 entries). The top spot won $214.13 compared to $372.14 and the final spot won $1.68 compared to $2.91. 9th place only paid $15.83, but had a share of the cashout pot (which could possibly be the chip leader share at the time of decidng the final table). Approximately 2/3 of the cashout pot was left prior to reaching the final table ($679.30), which was divided among the 9 players left.
Would like to know what your opinions are - generally I feel that you won't get as much for winning the tourney, but it might interest those who are usually close to making the final payout spot.
