Me and gnk recently went into won of those and came in the top 18. We both won money and I am happy about it. It's like starting from scratch to build a real money bankroll.

It's a good way to start a bankroll from nothing, When I went broke a few months ago, I hustled the 1k they gave me into 15k, then I went to the 100/200 level and turned that into 80k, left and brought up 4 tables at 20k each, hustled those turning 80k into 220k then went up to the 1k/2k level and sat with 110k, being able to reload one time... Which I usually don't because the play is a little better at higher stakes... To get the buy in.. I usually stay longer to atleast make sure I got my buy in for the night, with something else leftover for the next day. Usually get up at 680k...

The tournament is at 8:40pm est I think, but usually has less than 50 players and pays the top 18 atleast $2. With the $2 I won, I went to the nickle dime tables and waited to sit in and raised the blinds in position with a full $2 bet... normally you can scrape up .50 cents in blinds because people fold thinking your a donk... (Or you get called and lose it lol) But it's pretty risk free if you study the table.. and know who's blinds to steal (Better if they are both low stacked also) Then... When you have $2.50.. you have yourself (2) $1 SNG's and fate is in your hands at that point. I found trying to sit with the minimum $2 normally just gets eaten up by big stacks, before you can do anything... Why I suggested get in the table, and get out before you lose it all over a shorter yet longer period of time. I stay pressuring the $2 buy inners at that chipstack level... it's mean but fun =)

Thats how I did it anyways... Pretty easy to get $ on FTP

Interesting strategy.........not much skill seems to be involved in that though......

your right... but it works... That $2 got turned into $6 which got turned into $22 which spiraled into a full bankroll and I qualified for the Iron Man bronze status within a 3 week period in December... Netted about 2200 FTP's off that original $2 -- Any skill in that part? The checks FTP send me clear in my bank account.. I was trying to help the next person with no $...

I would agree with GNK on that one..and buying in with a 2$ min at the 5/10 tables is actually profitable if thats all you have.Just wait for your big hands and mix up your play and you'll have the max buy in for that table within an hour which is 500% profit. Also buying in with the mininum the big stacks pressure you but you get put all in alot which means doubling up in the right situations

Maybe that way works for you but I play way too tight with the minimum buy in, especially when I went through all the hassle of raising 700k play chips... (which can take an hour... somedays it takes 6 hours) then placing in this freeroll. It's pretty easy to get in the pay structure...

Too many times I sit with the $2 I won and get AK first hand and lose to trip QQ's, and then my night is over in 1 hand. I suggested this strategy because it's mine... Not many call $2 all in raises for 2 hands in a row if you know who your bullying.

And hell... Maybe you can do something with the $2 in the $1.25 SNG tourneys or the Ferguson... But I choose to have 2 buy ins to them to ensure my bankroll will start rolling....

Keep in mind... this is a strategy for the people with no $. I can't imagine people with a bankroll would even consider screwing with play chips or dollar SNG's... when there's Tier SNG's and FTP Point tourneys.... Waste of time to me but that's just cuz Poker supplements my income and I make money off it... I dread the day I go broke again or cash out and can't deposit... lol
