recently found out about the new Matrix tournaments on Fulltilt.

I played a couple games, and they are quite intense, but for the amount of time I played and the payout scheme, it doesn't seem worth it to me.
If I pay $10+1 for a buy-in and first place is only 9 dollars, it doesn't really seem worth it for me. And if I sweep all four tables (which isn't that easy) that would only be 34 dollars profit. While had I played 4 separate sngs i would have made 136 dollars profit.

I like the concept of the tournament. But I think that the payout should be based solely on the "matrix score".

I think the same u do, this morning i played a 1$ matrix just to see how the format was. And it has no sense i won 1 table and came 2nd and 3rd and i also came 2nd overall and i won like 2.4$

I think the payout estructure its the worse they could have done it, theres no way u can get some nice profit out of it.

I think FT got the idea for the matrix games from the Duplicate Poker site that closed down recently.

I think the structure could definitely be better. Then I may be more interested.

I recently tried it too, and agree with all of you. Concept is awesome but payout is wacked, but I do enjoy the fast paced 4 table SnG. Guess I can always join 4 tables and get the same effect huh. Looks like good payout for low amount of buyin is impossible for matrix system.

I've played in a few of these and have always come out of these games with more money than I put in. The concept seems sound to me - they just split your buyin between the 4 tables, and overall finish, so there are really 5 different payout structures. If you do well in all of them, you can do quite well.

yeah ive tried these out do pretty well in them low stakes only ..its excting to see a leaderboard and what not makes things a little more interesting.

The matrix is my favourite kind of tournament, it is smallest risk to lose. I play low limits 1-2$

Same here I like the Matrix concept but the payout should be just a lucrative

but earnings are not great ...
