The only problem I see is when I play poker I will have to take a vacation from the games for a while when I stop

good luck KJ. i heard it only takes 5 days for the nicotine to get out of your system.

i am going to quit soon, but not looking forward to it. i like it to dam much, but i have to quit.

you did seem a little impatient with those Jacks on Tilt. so maybe its the not smoking thing. if i 3x your raise like that, i have AA or KK. i almost said i was sorry, but i knew it was the wrong thing to say.

hope you make it on the nonsmoking thing, its something we all should do.

Cold turkey is the only way to go. I tried quitting using a gradual slowdown - it worked for a few days until I had a bad day - bingo - back on it - then I decided to go cold turkey - it worked.
You have to really want to quit, otherwise you won't.
Good luck KJ - think of all the extra money you will have to play poker- LOL.

A mistake made in the past is not as important as the lesson learned from it.

Thanks for the thread KJ. I wondered a while back if you were still not smoking. I wish you success this time around. You know what they say "quitting is easy, it's not starting back that's hard"

Jeff and I both smoke, but we only do it outside or in the garage. Atleast when I decide to give it up, I won't have to quit playing poker. Sometimes is a loooonnnnnggggg time between breaks at the tourneys.

Ripclawph, that might be too much information.

I get a kick out of Alice Cooper on his radio show when he goes off on pot smokers for thinking they are doing something healthy. Think about the logic of it: set something on fire, stick it in your head--does that sound healthy?

I hate that the price of cigs have risen over a dollar and 25 cents near my house since a month ago. I enjoy smoking, I guess i'm just going to have to smoke em 1 at a time and stop having one for each hand. This sucks
