Well, I made it through my daughter's wedding! After a whole year of preparation, it turned out to be, and I quote, "the most rockin wedding I've ever been to." With the Bride, the Groom, the Best Man, All 3 Groomsmen, 1 of the Bridesmaids and lots of the guests are musicians, there's no reason to NOT rock it out!
The ceremony was gorgeous. My daughter and her new hubby got married at the Campus Chuch at the college where they met. We then took a ride to a place that the two of them had their first date, a waterfall in the middle of a tiny village in our county.
After getting pictures at the waterfall, off we went in our decorated pick-up trucks. (picture below)
We made it to the reception on time, quickly ate, had a couple of toasts, mingled a bit and then all headed to the dance floor and the band stand. After a couple of traditional wedding dances, the music really started! With so many different musicians at the wedding we had a wide range of tunes...something for everyone. My son-in-law and his one band are more on the country side, his other band is more southern rock and eighties, my daughter's band tends to be a heavier rock such as Alanis Morrisett AudioSlave and Tool. My son and his friends lean toward more of a heavy metal, drop D type music. We also had another band who played for us. They play a lot of their own music with an electric acoustic guitar, a bass guitar and a bongo. It was unbelievable!
Even my hubby was up on stage at one point singing "Hotel California" with the Bride, Groom and Best Man. (picture is below) The caterers were having a great time too. There were 3 men cooking and 3 ladies serving and bartending. The ladies sent the guys home while they were finishing up, but ended up staying to party with us until 1 am. They were wishing they had brought a tent too...lol. (picture below..one of the caterers is running off the dance floor on the left)
Since we had about 35 people who were spending the night in various tents and campers around our property, the party went on till 2 am, at which point I decided it was time to give everyone some leftovers and bottles of water to soak up the alcohol...lol. After feeding my brood, I led everyone to the fire to settle down. By 3 am, everyone had toddled off to bed.![]()
