Guilty Pleasures
I was wasting time on Youtube as you do
and I started searching out some old guilty pleasures lol, like first record bought, favourite childhood TV show that sort of thing. So to expose my poor childhood taste and hopefully see everyone else's I thought I share the first record I spent my hard earned pocket money on, I can't believe I was only 6 at the time

Just to carry on from that it was 4 years before my pocket money ran to buying the first LP ?? (CD or Album to you youngsters) The Album was called Electric Warrior by T Rex this is a track off it.
T Rex - Jeepster
Also a track from an Album I bought in my childhood and still listen to regularly now Pink Floyd and Breath from Dark Side of the Moon.

hi all
I have to admit I have a soft spot for all the tv shows I remember as a kid ...
Lovejoy
Bergerac
also the reruns of Odedin Line
the joys of working from home - its that or Jeremy Kyle and Oprah ...
Howards Way wins hands down
then there is all the kids shows for 70's ... trumpton, flumps, ivor the engine and bagpuss ... kids shows now are crap

Okay, I will reveal...
My favorite TV shows as a child were Mr Ed, Batman, I Dream Of Jeanie, and Gilligan's Island. It is amazing because 2 years ago I was at one of my daughter's houses and theses shows were on all the time. I asked her why in the heck do they watch the shows and I was pleasantly surprised that my kids now love to watch the shows I used to watch. They play on Nickelodeon.
My favorite song??? I did not get into music until I was alot older. But in the 9th grade I had a girlfriend for all of 3 or 4 weeks. And she performed my favorite song at the time on a piano!!! All I Have To Do Is Dream by the Everly Brothers. Hot Diggity was she the most beautiful thing in the world.

I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan. Although I have to admit I'm a fairly recent convert. Started listening to them about 5 years ago. Best band ever, hands down.
Best album IMO is The Division Bell even though it was after Roger Waters left. Hard to pick a second, they are all awesome once Sid Barrett left.

I was at this concert at Knebworth Hall in 1990
YouTube - Pink Floyd Comfortably Numb Live at Knebworth 1990
It was a big outdoor festival with about 20 bands on and Pink Floyd were the headline band that finished the show. It rained all day and my wife got ill about half way through the afternoon and we had to leave, I listened to Pink Floyd on the radio in the car on the way home stopping every now and then for her to puke

I have most of PINK Floyds albums on cd and copies on my works laptop.
I find them great to to have playing when I'm typing up technical specifications and I don't need outside distractions from people.
Regret I never made it to a live concet but saw them on film at the cinema and I have the 1994 Earls court concert on DVD.
Add to them bands like Wishbone Ash, The Moodyblues and Emerson Lake and Palmer my teenage years are defined.
Child hood TV The Wooden Tops as an infant.
As a young TV engineer apprentice use to get to watch The Tomorrow People on kids TV while working in the workshop and I watched the original Star Trek when it was first shown in the UK. Big Si Fi fan
Now I've given too much away
