Favorite Hobby BP(Before Poker)

Yeah, now poker takes up alot of my free time. But before poker there was something else you enjoyed putting a lot of time into. What was that hobby???

Mine was coin collecting growing up as a kid.

But as an adult spending time reading about all things stock market captured my attention. I still sleep with Bloomberg Radio News at level 5 on my computer sitting next to my bed. Just so nice waking up in the middle of the night, hearing it on for a few minutes then crashing back to sleep. Also, I have access to the Bloomberg TV station, but the Bloomberg radio version usually works fine for me.

i used to collect all kinds of things.

marbles(sold)
seashells
skeleton keys(sold)
sports cards(stolen)
foreign money

bloomberg is a great sleep aid.

Funny you mention marbles. I remember playing marbles heavily at recess while attending New Lexington Elementary school in El Monte California while I was in 1st
thru fifth grades in 1966 thru 1970.

I kept my vaunted collection in a wooden cigar box.

I've always been a collector of things. One of my first memories was my collection of dolls. I can remember the smell of my Great-Gramma's freshly waxed wooden floor as I lined up my 56 baby dolls. I don't know how old I was, but I know I hadn't started kindergarten yet. My GG taught me so much, (including poker..lol) that I could count, spell and read some before I went to school. (ahhh I miss her...) Later, I also collected stuffed animals. When I finally put them in the attic, I think there was 8 garbage bags full of them...

I also collected coins and stamps. An older couple that lived next door to us, loved me. Their grandkids lived far away, so I filled some kind of void for them. I mowed their grass regularly and they gave me stamps and old coins and even the books to put them in. I don't know what ever happened to those. They got lost somewhere in the shuffle of my life.

Throughout my whole life, I've also collected books. My hubby finally built a ceiling to floor bookshelf that takes up a whole wall in the spare bedroom.

Like Daniel Negreanu my hobby was playing snooker on the 12 x 6 foot tables. Spent alot of time playing snooker. Then joined a league on a Team playing the 8 x 4 ' regular bar tables and our Team won a trip to Vegas for a week. Quite an experience at the Riviera with 180 pool tables all in one room and 500 Teams from all over the USA mainly and Canada. Before i started playing online Poker.
