Ottawa Canada Bluesfest Line-up announced !!

Its the 2nd largest Bluesfest in N.America behind Chicago.Well it started as a small True Bluesfest but now includes all genres of music.You can still find plenty of good real Blues in some of the smaller and more intimate of the 5 Stages.Thats where you will find me.The headliners are listed and bring in the big $$$ to the main stage but some of the best acts can be found on the smaller back stages imo.Its maybe the largest Music Festival as it lasts 10-11 days and has 5 Stages.The main Stage attracts 30,000 people a night.Did i mention this is open air concerts.I think KISS last year drew 40,000 people.I went to see a couple songs but returned to one of the back stages for better music.People are drawn and crammed into the main acts but the hidden treasures can be found on the back stages.I love the Blues and actually most of the main stage Acts try to bring the Blues.I take my Holidays for these 2 weeks and don,t even have time for Poker. July 6th - July 18th -- 13 days of solid music !!!

The Moody Blues, Dream Theater, Furthur featuring Phil Lesh and Bob Weir, The B-52s, Joan Jett, John Butler Trio Gipsy Kings, The Flaming Lips, Metric, Babe Ruth, Steve Hackett, RUSH, John Hiatt, The Swell Season, Arcade Fire, AlexisonFire, Passion Pit, Santana, Iron Maiden, Steve Winwood, Renaissance, Faber Drive, Matthew Good, Marianas Trench, Crowded House, Great Big Sea, Kevin Costner & Modern West, The Musical Box, Andrew Bird, Keith Urban, Jimmy Cliff, Weezer, Roger Hodgson, Drake, The Cat Empire, Southside Johnny and the Ashbury Jukes, Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi Band, Marc Cohn, Robert Randolph, LIGHTS and many more….


And more,, there are 5 stages with over lapping music.One is totally dedicated to the Blues.You can really get up close to the smaller stages which i like.And you can see some really good secret gems and up and coming acts.But most people don,t venture back to smaller stages located on the pretty river shore.They don,t know what there missing.But you can,t see it all with 5 stages going at the same time.I,m so lucky to live in Ottawa 15 minutes away for this musicfest. .
And if you buy an earlybird Full Pass its only like $275 dollars for 12 days and you cant beat that.I like the outdoors compared to the arena setting too.People come from all over especially Northern US States.The schedule isn,t full yet.About 285 Acts in total.I am in no way involved in the promotion here.I,m just excited as this is my summer holiday.
