i quit for almost 3 months last year....then had a death in the family...and depression i started again....now last month i got hypnotized to quit and haven't had or craved a cig in 35 days....if the hypnotism comes to your area i would strongly suggest doing it...it only cost $50 and i was spending $50 a week on cigarettes

I didn't know they do that..
But I don't think hypnosis will work on me. I'm like an elephant, they had to give me 3 shots of anesthetic before a surgery and still the effect went off 25 minutes in and fmlsdafkg fk I didn't want to remember that moment.
It's more like a social thing for me.. I like smoking. So the hard part about it would be seeing all my friends smoking and me just sitting there. Plus I just bought a really cool zippo

    Deffo...GIVE IT UP!!!!!!

    IT STINKS

I know, I live with a smoker, it's fekkin awful...(and so is he, lol, he said thank you, dear! See what it does to your brain...lol)....

Nah, it's a waste of money and unhealthy...totally agree with hynotism, it really can help...maybe i should have it to make me want to start...errmm, NO!!!!

The main thing is if you like it you won't want to give it up...so it's really all about how much you actually WANT to do something.

You could always sit with your back to your friends when you're out, so you don't have to watch 'em smoking, lol, may not get asked out again, tho, but...if they really are your friends they won't pressurise you to join in if they know you're trying to give up...but then if you're sitting there smelling it and wanting it...

    what can ya do?

    addiction, eh...

    vs willpower...

    a losing battle for most...

My grandma smoke for 50 years to the point of smoke 1 1/2 pack daily, until his brother die from lung cancer for smoking less than 1 pack, that day she decide to quit smoking, donīt touch a cigarrette for the rest of her life, at first was hard but she was a very strong lady.

Rest in peace, April last year she pass away at age 83, i love you grandma, really miss you.

    Unhappy Smoking is the Devil!

Well.. he makes me do it? I started when I was 14 years old walking down the railroad tracks to a party (Momma was a naughty girl). lol.. Peer Pressure Sucks! "What are you a Chicken.. Come On.. You wanna look cool don't ya.. ya big baby..." That's my excuse for starting. 14 years old, peer pressure and a family that drove me so crazy I left home when I was 16.

Now, I can think of excuse after excuse to why I keep smoking, but I know the truth and that is.. I am totally addicted to smoking.. Plain and Simple.

All my girlfriends who have quit keep telling me "Don't Worry.. You'll Quit When Your Ready." I wish I would just "Be Ready" ..ffs You just want to fit in when you start. Now I'm trying to fit in again, with a Whole World of people who have quit. Why doesn't Peer Pressure work the same now as it did then?

I just got fed up with waking up each morning with a HACKING couph for about the 1st 1/2 hour. As those little hairlike bristles in your throat that bring up the phlem from your lungs etc get clogged up and quit functioning. In Ottawa Canada as most places now you can,t smoke indoors or in Bars.So that helps with the social aspect and watching others smoke in front of you.And it just adds to the hangovers due to lack of oxygen to the brain i think. lol
Anyways I quit about 10 years ago.I used a drug called Zyban. Its excatly the same drug as Wellbutrin which you can get prescribed for depression and not pay the Zyban price if you a have a good health policy. INTERESTINGLY while trying out patients for depression giving the test subjects Wellbutrin they were astounded to find that 35-40% of the subjects quit smoking. The urge to smoke just disappeared. So naturally they branded it under another name Zyban and advertised it to quit smoking.
Anyways you take it and continue normal smoking practice. And after a week you should notice you have less urge and not lighting up as often. They say take if for a month but I only needed 2 weeks and quit.
I still have the odd cigarette when i,m out in Public at a Bar drinking.I enjoy smoking eth odd one but never feel any urge the next day. Then i,m stiil on Wellbutrin for my depression... lol

i used zyban when i quit for the 5 years. it worked well but i had side effects from the drug. i fell twice due to orthostatic hypotension while taking zyban. my blood pressure would bottom out when i changed body positions.
