player who puts his own celebrity status b4 football......no chance. This is a guy thats moved to the states 2-3 years b4 his ability required....Y would a pure footballer be doing that.

I have no problem with beckham doing what he wants thats up to him for people to tout him for hire status in regards to england than many others ex players - shearer / sheringham / redknapp / scholes / pearce / etc etc bcos of his own self promoting is re dic ul ous.

i personally think the prob is from a players point of view is the pressure we are one of the worst of the teams that have a chance bhind holland, germany, spain, brazil, italy ....that gives us an outside chance not the BEST CHANCE WE WILL EVER HAVE hence it should be treated that way to relieve pressure

in poker terms if i am playing u head up and i am EXPECTED to win...i have NOTHING to gain from playing u and only have pressure on me if our press was not so selfish and god forbid decided to help our nation it could easily change players attitudes.

ps - i agree get rid of fab i like many 1000's was baffled when he took lennon off for wright-phillips (personally i would of like to see johnson go in his place) also y play a defensive minded gareth barry when u are playing ALGERIA Stick barry on the left as he is left footed also good cover for ashley cole and i dont know play gerrard somewhere like eerrr, eerrrr the middle. sacrifce gerrard or lamps aswell for cole

but we did do well in qualifying......laughable qualifiers are like manu playing dagenham and redbridge.

I wouldn't take off Gerard, a play maker and goal scorer, also go with Rooney and Defoe up front...Lampard for Cole, yes, cos he hasn't been playing that well...forget Wright-Phillips, Lennon any time...any place...

I disagree about Beckham...think he's totally into the game and England's advancement...his "business interests" are not solely his own and more often than NOT his own

Every time I see him interviewed he looks like he just loves the game and the team and wherever he has been dragged to in the world for the sake of a few more millions (why??)...is probably more often than not his choice...but I think he is putting his foot down more now....we can only hope...

beckam manager the team would be wearing high heals and selling training sessions to ok magazine. i admit he comes across very well and always has done but i would judge him more on his actions than the media traiined replies that any footballer give for that matter. like i say he moves to the states for celebrity status then his sh*ts on his club by making it clear he wants to play at milan and GENUINLY thinks he is justified in his point that he needs milan to play for his country...so what he HIMSELF SACRIFICED any chance of that bcos he put his fame / lifestyle choicee b4 his football and went to the states. He has done alot for the game and is a decent footballer but been more famous has no relevance to been better suited to england job.....i personally think it should work against as u cannot argue this guy is / always has been more interested in his personal fame than any footballer i have known....that is a negative point in regards to england not a plus.
