Anyone like aquariums and fishies?

I have another hobby. It is my aquarium. I built a custom cabinet for my 55gal., built my own sump and overflow box, and keep the water chemistry ok. I don't have saltwater, too difficult to maintain. Does anyone else like fishkeeping? Peace.

I don't keep my own anymore as it's way to much work for me at least,lol. I really do think some are beautiful though and when a person takes good care of one then it's awesome to sit back and watch them do their thing inside

My Bro-In-Law has 2 koi ponds in his backyard.Those fish can live for 50 years.There expensive as he has spent $1,000 for a single fish.But now he has plenty of them in the ponds.They can grow quite large too.It,s amazing how these fish kind of hibernate all winter under the ice in Canada.

I used to. But it is a chore. Great hobby if you have the time and inclination.

Yeah it is cool. I have spent a lot of time and effort building things for mine, and customizing it. Soon I will post a pic of my custom stand and setup I built. I don't have too much money in it. I don't have expensive fish. I have fish that I liked, that are cheap.

I didn't buy expensive fish either, they die or get eaten

Yup. I have 5 neon tetras, a red platy (used to have 3, 1 survivor), a hatchet fish (used to have 3, 1 survivor), a zebra danio, 2 goldfish, an algae eater, and two tiger barbs. I used to have crawfish (not sure about spelling for this), but they were savage barbarians. They had to be REMOVED. I want to get 5 or 6 more neons, and some more friends for the zebra danio, the hatchet fish, and the red platy. I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I had to get the water softened and ph down a bit, that took a few months. Now, it has been stable for a while. Time to add some fishies! Speaking of this, I should test my water now. Peace.

The neons like to reproduce, the trick is not having the babies eaten.

My favorites were the angel fish. So beautiful.
