TRUE GRIT vs TRUE GRIT
OK I saw botht eh original and today went and saw the remake
I think the original was better , dont like how the remake just did narration in the beginning about chancy killy mattys dad where as the original showed how matty ran the house and her dad going to town.
I dont know many John Wayne films but the the original version was much more funny and since both movies were the same sort of, the original was funnier
Dont like how the new version glossed over how matty met The officer from texas and how money frugal matty was in the hotel, like in the original matty tells the hotel manager that she have more food since it cost .25 cents and since she was sharing a room with a grandma she was only paying hlaf price
The new version never shows the lawyer matty had as the original did and also shows ROOSTER and MAtty as the funeral plot where matty wanted rooster to be buried and in the new version they add something that wasnt in the original about rooster joing the circus and died 3 days before matty found him (40 years later) and she had his body moved
The shootout at the house by the river was a totally wrect in the new one as the officer from texas never left Rooster and matty in the original and in the remake they kept speperating and the way things happened in the first shootout at the house was much more realistic in the origninal
The new version tried to add a comedy segment about being followed in the woods so matty and roster waited in the snow and then they show them hours later still waiting with much more snow falling (this is when the doctor wearing the bear skin appeared
While both versions were very good but the original 1969 movie was better but at least they didnt ruin the remake with a bunch of CGI garbage and it was a very good movie but if I didnt see the orignal first I dont know if I would of totally understood what was going on
