Lost my post

What happened - I spent quite a bit of time typing a new thread, but when I went to submit it, I wasn't logged in. Tried to login again as instructed but a blank screen appeared. Can I prevent this from happening again, and if so, how?

If this happens it is because you took enough time to write your post, you timed out. No big deal though.

Scroll down when it says you are not logged in. In the center of the screen it will have a place for you to put in your username and password. fill them in, it logs you in and posts your post. Remember, scroll down to log in (center of page), you can't see the place to put your username unless you scroll down.

yep beans post nailed it - sorry I will get them to have a look at making that time longer (if it can be done) as I also get into a really long post and then hit post and hit problems

That's what I did, but instead of logging me in, it gave me a blank screen and sat there.

when you get the logged out page, log back in and click the back button twice

OMG I dont know if many you know this but soemtimes I post a lot and sometimes long,

WHen i first joined way before the upgrade, I wrote this long LONG POST (unlogged in) ZAP BAM it disappeared on me to, MAN I WAS PISSED, but for the most part, once you log in it does get your post posted, but I will say if I have one of my magically worded posts, I will cut and paste before I submit just in case, Cause soemtime DAN ABS is just a magical wordbase

Know the feeling, had started a thread that was hours in writing (kinda like my wining posts) but then that was when scrawnybob was doing the forum move....

I had said I lost a months worth of posts..which is true
no one noticed the irony of the date being the 1st of the month

...even added a smiley

Still the logged in session time needs to be increased, does no harm to extend it to those that do log in then leave but effects those that are posting.

I preview my post every so often if it's taking me a while and copy it. The preview gives you more time again and if I've copied it (to the clipboard), I can paste it when I log back in.
