With the recent passing of George Carlin, it begs the question.....Who is the funniest man alive? I don't know who I would vote, as I don't think there is an overwhelming favorite. I'm a big Will Farell fan, and i think he would get my vote but i doubt he would win a large poll.

there are so many different styles of comedy that it would be hard to nail it down to name 1 as the best
but as for george carlin don't get me wrong here i liked him and he is one of the best of all time....but alot of putting him above others was his in ur face foul mouth "screw the man" style...but that's just my opinion as alot of great comedians are funny as hell and not one foul word leaves their lips...but i do luv the mother****** funny as **** foul mouthed son of a *****in funny ****ers
I know this isn't really a thread about George Carlin, but did anybody see SaturdayNightLive last night? It was an original episode from 1975 that he hosted. Got to say, the show seemed a lot funnier in 1975. The audience hardly laughed at his jokes. He really wasn't very funny. I guess he got better as time went by. Even the skitts weren't that funny. Probably should have gotten drunk before watching it.
I'm a huge Adam Sandler fan and any movie that his Happy Madison company does makes me laugh my ass off. Will Ferrell is funnier than hell too, but most of his movies dont compare to Adam Sandler's movies.. I actually think Will Ferrell was funnier than Adam Sandler on SNL.. and if he was still alive, Chris Farley!!!
thats a tough question. there are so many good comedians out there its hard to pick one. im with you on will ferral though i think that there is a diff. between comidians and comedic actors. as far as movies he is by far the best, but i dont know if he would be very good in an hour stand-up. i loved dane cook for about two weeks and he wouldve gotten my vote but know everytime i hear his voice i wanna throw a brick in the direction it came!!! other than that i like Daniel Tosh. he is pretty good. oh and ill feel bad if i dont throw this out there. there is a guy named Mitch Hedburg, he past away i think back in 2002. he has a bit of a subtle rutine, kinda slow and quiet. he is very funny though, so check him out if you have a minute you wont regret it. "i went to a fair and saw a jar of jelly beans. the guys says guess how mnany and win the jar. so i go maaaannnn cant i just have some. i mean why put me to work? tell you what you guess how many i want, if you said a handful you are correct"!!!
"P.S. <--- this is what a portion of the alphabet would look like had Q and R been removed"
George Carlin was definately my favorite comedian. Now I don't know many comedians by name or anything, but Dane Cook is probably now my favorite. I'm sure there are better ones than him but my favorite out of the ones I've heard.
I realize that comedy is a very personal thing and subject to individual taste. But I find Farrell, Sandler, and the late Farley's comedy to be very juvenile and predictable. I'm surprized nobody has mentioned Chris Rock. He gets my vote since Richard Prior is out of the running with George Carlin.
