    Default General Strategy

Beware of the Weak means strong and strong means weak tell. When someone bets aggressively, loudly saying, "I raise" and pounding the table with his bet, that means he's bluffing. He's got the best hand when he bets quietly or says, "I think you got me".

Just in case also beware of the tricky player that does the Reverse Weak means strong and strong means weak tell.

Only the Top Pros use the Maxwell Smart, Double Reverse weak means strong and strong means weak tell.

If you are dealt pocket aces and decide to raise before the flop, then everyone will assume you have a strong hand and fold, thus you do not make the most of a good hand. If you merely call, then your opponents will realise that you're betting slowly to sucker them in to making a large bet themselves, and will again fold meaning you don't make the most of a good hand. Therefore, if you are dealt pocket aces, the best strategy is to fold.

Angry Good Advice..a Little Too Late

Now...why didn't you give me this advice sooner Villa.

I just can't seem to get that hand I had the other day out of my mind. That damn 8, 4 that beat my Aces the other day and all of the mixed emotions associated with that hand could have all been avoided if I had known about this very insightful strategy a little sooner..

i can agree with this but remember that some people know of this strategy and may use it to their advantage so beware when using it

Pocket Rockets is a nice hand but you need them when it counts and hope some one else beats big before flop So about 50% I won't bet them till I can catch that player preflop.

With some of the junk that people play online i think it is very hard to get a good tell on most people.

    Nice post.

But I think it was not applicable for everyone. It is because... sometimes... I try to anticipate my opponents thought. When I act like I have a very strong cards (I really have) and raise the bet... normally, my opponents thinks that I'm bluffing so they raise the bet and make a huge move.

No doubt about it, NL Holdem is fraught with freaks and fish who have no game. How many freerolls have you seen with half the players going all in right away? You can get some good play at a freeroll, and you can knock off some fish, but you can get donked off just as fast.

well i think it is very different strategy depending on what game you are playing and whether or not your getting cards
