I love to play NLHE on Carbon. It is really a fun game.

Personally, I like triple draw. It gets lots of action going, as do most lowball games. Also, it's a little different, and it's well-suited to smaller groups of players.

    Default Horse all the way

Horse gets you a good basis of games if you don't know anything other than NLHE. If they aren't up to that, then at least add in Omaha Hi and Omaha H/L. Among my friends in home games though people completely over value their hands, and one specific friend of mine (complete gambler) plays extremely loose.

I haven't actually played this, but thought it sounded fun and would create really good action. It's Omaha, but the flop determines whether everyone is playing Omaha Hi/Lo or Omaha HI. I can't remember exactly what determined it, but I'm sure it'd work just as well if you make your own rule for determining up, like red flops are hi/lo and black flops are hi or something like that. 2-7 triple draw and badugi are also a fun ones

    cheers

I thought the flop always determined whether you were playing hi or hi/lo.

You chose the variant first, and the flop as nothing to do with the fact you're having low or not.
If you play omaha hi/lo, the board will give you a low if you're able to show 5 cards under 8 (include), not pairing. As A,3,4,6,7 for example, with 2 from your hand, at the showdown. Best hand is the wheel, which is a straight also A to 5.
Good luck in your own home games.

Yah.. what he ^ said. AND.. hojediade, how's it goin' these days on the tables? Are you playing at all on Pokerstars.fr (< or whatever they call it there)? What are the games like? Are you guys able to play in 'HomeGames'?
The game is the game no matter what comes on the flop. In games that are actually held in your house, sure there's sometimes some funky rules (ie. like 'chicago low spades'. or 'hi', placing a chip in hand behind your back.. left hand for 'hi'.. right hand for 'low' & stuff like that) but doubt any of those types of games are actually spread anywhere for real. (the 'old days', lol.... there was a zillion weird games, 'Firey Cross' was another, 'Follow the Bitch' was another, lol... can't imagine playing that stuff for money, lol... 'but' we did!! Often! lol).

    Hey PO.
I'm not playing as much as i did in past years, due to a lack of time (job, familly, etc.) for playing and also that i can't really find new french communitys to replace 4KP or other forums i used to be part of. When i play, i still find a way to be a winning player, don't know how?!? I should probably take more advantage of my 'experience' while playing french poker players, but i can't afford it yet.
And yeah I have pokerstars.fr (and also fulltiltpoker.fr) and other rooms. But all particular games like homegames from PS or matrix from FTP aren't allowed for us, which is really sick. I'm not wondering if you're doing good at the tables cause i'm sure you are. Hope to see ya soon at a table or elsewhere.

    Hoj.

I think playing 2-7 single draw is a good game to play at a home game but it is only limited to 6 players since u are dealt 5 cards.

Also it plays similar to nlh without a flop.
