    REGULATIONS OF KAHNAWAKE GAMING COMMISSION CONCERNING INTERACTIVE GAMING IN CANADA

    The Kahnawake Gaming Commission enacted a regulatory structure for online gaming known as the Kahnawake Regulations Concerning Interactive Gaming (the “Regulations) pursuant to Section 35 of the Kahnawake Gaming Law. Under the Canadian Criminal Code provincial governments can only operate online gambling Websites. Notwithstanding, the Kahnawake Mohawks, who consider themselves as an independent state, have established the Kahnawake Gaming Commission to license and regulate the websites operating on internet servers physically located on their ethnic lands.
    The following questions have been addressed in this article:
    What was the purpose of the regulations concerning Interactive Gaming enacted by the KGC?
    What is the licence fee to be paid under the regulations of Kahnawake Regulations Concerning Interactive Gaming?
    What regulations do the KGC set for the online sites that they host?
