sick...
Both are really exciting results for the poker community. Sammy is such a fond memory for the moneymaker generation of poker players. Pretty awesome to see him succeed. He's such a fun guy as well.![]()
I am grateful to Sammy for winning Event #25 too as I took down 2nd place in the fantasy freeroll he got me into.
$152.50 and I haven't play much Omaha hi/lo at all, didn't really understand the game before I played in the freeroll.
I had a nice advantage at the beginning though because the rest of my table was sitting out so I built a nice stack in the first hour.
Won alot of nice low pots because 4 players would go to the river chasing hi hands and I had the nut low a few times.
The guy I played HU got pretty lucky and the HU battle didn't last too long at all.
The river loved him.
Having said that, I didn't play very well HU.
Pretty sure I'm winning a Fulltilt Hat from Event #55. My total Fantasy Dollars for the event were $425,215 which I believe puts me in 49th spot, just under the 50mark & will be my only hat won this year. I've won 8freerolls now, only played in two of them, (min-cashed in one of them) & have one still pending.
I didn't get my picks in on time for the MainEvent so will be going with the picks I made for Event#56. Looking them over, probably not much different I would've made to them, except that for sure I would've added in Phil Helmuth as he seems to often go fairly deep in the MnEv. Hearing he went out on Day1.... maybe a good thing I didn't get my picks in on time.
I won another freeroll in Event#45 and never expected it because I only had one player cashing & it was for minimal (calculated into F$'s it came to $20,653 & actually ended up ranked #169 for that event, weeeeeeeeee!!!!!). My pick was Tim West (Tmay420 on Fulltilt). WTG Tim... now I just need to cash in it, lol.
Who'd you all pick for the MainEvent? I'll list my picks here after a few others list their's.
... sidenote - one of my neighbours is playing the MainEvent and has made it through Day1B. Will be following his results with great interest(stake me to play med.buyin MTTs please buddy.... umm... I wouldn't mind grinding out the $55-$109's for awhile... even a half-dozen $26donkaments a day for awhile would be cool...)
Brad Booth - > "Like a fight... it's not how you start, it's how you finish"
Congratulations to the winners
Sooner or later Phil Ivey has to win a WSOP event in no limit holdem. 8 bracelets and they're all in games other than no limit holdem.
