    Default Mtt live question

Gonna play my first live MTT next Thursday and it should be fun $65 buy in and 2 radio DJ's with $300 bounties on their head

How do MTT work live (im sure Ill find out there but) do you have to knock an entire tabole to move to anothe rtable or do they adjust people as you go.

I emailled the DJ to find speicifics on pay outs as there should be at least 100 people in this thing or maybe more and Im trying to fine tune MTT skills cause live and online are 2 different animals. well I will update every one when its done but Im just trying to get an idea an what im up for. If I have to beat a whole table to move on then it seems like each table strategy will be SNG type as opposed to MTT TYPE but we will see

This is how it works: You just play. As people get eliminated, they will adjust the tables and move people as necessary to keep tables as full as possible. If it gets down to 11 people, there will be one table with 5 people, and one table with 6 people, until there is 10 (if that is how many table seats, usually is).

So you are not going to playing short handed too much, until the final 2 or 3 tables.

Also, I would recommend searching "poker tells" on youtube. There is some very good info on some of the videos for poker tells. I played a MTT at the casino a few weeks ago, and people actually do alot of the things that you should be looking for. But, some people know about the tells, and may try to fool you with them. Live poker is the best... You can't see someone's hand trembling uncontrollably when they bet, online. It is so much easier to read people live. But there are sneaky people out there who know about tells. I can tell you one thing though: this is the one tell I see hold true more than any other...

People will sometimes look visibly disappointed at a flop, or a turn card, but they bet anyways, and look as if they are unhappy doing so (like at a flop of three diamonds or something, act like they made TPTK, but they are worried about the diamonds). Don't fall for that crap, get out unless you have a monster. That is probably the number one tell that I have tried and proven myself. Also, inexperienced players will generally seem weak when they are strong, and will seem confident and strong when they are full of crap and they missed the flop. But keep in mind, people that have studied about poker may use these common tells against people. anyways, I will shutup now. I hope something in here can help you. Peace.

Oh yeah, tournies usually pay out the top 10% of entrants, or around that.
