    Default 1st Live MTT Tonight

Getting excited, Im playing my first live MTT tonight. Sounds like it might be kind of big. Sponsored by a radio station in Orlando, they play my town every 3rd Thursday of the month. $65 buy in for 3500 chips and if you get signed in before 7:30 you get 500 extra chips so Im gonna get warmed up on some limit hold up before hand. 2 DJ's have bounties on them, if you get them before level 6 its $300 per and after level 6 its $600 per but Im really gotta try to be focused as Im excited but a little nervous. Hopefully I wont do anything too stupid for the first few levels as each level is 20 minutes long. I will update this thread HOPEFULLY REAL LATE TONIGHT with a great showing but we will see. PLus this is the most money, online or live I have invested in one game so HELL YEAH

WILL THE ROGUE TUMBLEWEED SURVIVE or WILL HE BE KICKING ROCKS AFTER 30 minutes.

HOLY FUCK was this awesome. This actually felt like poker. I was a fish out of water at first, started with 5000 chips (you got a dealer add on 1000 chips for $10 extra so toal investment was $75) and it amounted to like 16 chips so that felt odd

No bounties hit my table so no chance of that

170 people entered I went out 24th too bad 18th was were it started to pay. Blinds were up to 3K 6K level and I never really got my stack above 22K and towards the end I was having to ship all in's over and over and most paid off. Finally hit a brick wall on a hand I should of folded but I was about to blinded down to 3K so I pushed all in on J9

FLop AJ4 (I PUSHED ALL IN HERE Hoping the J would hold up) this brought 3 other people to call all in with appox 35K a piece. My jacks were good sorta 2 people flipped over lower pocket pairs but the last dude flip over an AJ so that was the end of night as the turjn and river couldnt help me unless it was 9 9.

I lasted a little over 4 hours so I was pleased with my playing. I probably need to take more risks if Im ever gonna build up healthier stacks but I never got moved from my orignal table so Im not sure how big all the other stacks were but at my table only 2 or 3 people had big time stacks.

These 2 dudes got real testy with each other. Guy pushes all in with JJ but says he loses a lot of torunies with this, HE got called by another player and lost and was busted out. Suddenly the guy who got busted out said something about its not a finese bet its how you play and the older dude not in the hand said "Well thats why your walking" which got a response of "I could bust your ass anywhere and you dont need to be an ass hole about it" YES NOW THATS POKER

Well there ya go an overview of my first live MTT, Im so lucky to live 5 minutes away from this place + as a warmer up I did make $25 at the $1/$2 limit tables so that took away a little of the sting. But 24th out 170th IM pleased with

Good job dude! Do you like live better than online? I do. I replied to your first post about this tourney, and also I made a post for poker tells. You should check them out. Anyways, good luck in the future. Peace.

    Hey Bean

I love playing live much more than online except live is a much more costly adventure so I cant do it all the time as when I play cash I either seem to win nicely or lose nicely. ANd usually if I do get way ahead, I stay too long and end up behind. I will say if we do enter a black out period I will be cutting my chops at the live game a lot more, It just feels so much more like poker sitting at table, feeling the chips, and SEEING THE CARDS AND THE DECK especially the DECK!!!. Thanks

Certainly sounded like a good time.....I wish I had some where that close to go. They used to have local games here hosted by restuarants hoping to get a big drinking crowd but they only paid out in "gift certificates".....most winners wanted money! Lasted about 7 weeks!

Glad you had a good time and got to see the real emotions from the average poker player unlike what they show you on TV. Live and online poker really are two different beast.

It will take a few more games before your really get settled in.

    Best of luck to you
