Delaware Park Tournaments

Next week De park is having a "bracket" tournment in honor of march madness. Sounds very interesting. 32 tables, up to 10 at each, top 2 move on plus losers get put into a drum and 2 wildcards get picked for each table of next round to make it 6 people, this continues till final table of 6, top prize 10000 bucks. Buy in 150, not too bad, I might try it if I have enough cash.

Next month is the Delaware park poker classic with a 100,000 dollar guarantee main event. Might try a sat. for this, but thousand dollar buyin is def. out of my budget.

Any thoughts as to formatt of this tourney. I'm thinking about playing. Interesting that you can still make it to next round even if you lose, all the way to next to last round, when players start to make money. Have to finish top 3 to go to final table.

WOW That sounds like a great tourny to get into. I agree the toruny next month is BIG TIME MONEY and if its like my card room there are some regs who alwasy seem to get ITM or very very close that have probably won enough that they could almost like at a 10K buy in as a free roll

I wish my card room would do something like this, maybe at a lower buy in. I can see the first round of tables being not too hard to get through as a bet a lot of people will want to be chipping up non stop. BUT I BET THOSE LAST TABLES WILL BE HARD AS HELL

Are saying 2 losers from each table will get to move on via a wildcard drawing or 2 losers from the first round of tables. if its from each table. that is very cool.

Its a bracket style tourney, 32 tables at start (up to 10 players per table). Top 2 move on to next round (16 tables). So thats four per table, they pick 2 more for each table from losers to make the remaining rounds 6 players per table. They do this each round until it gets to 4 tables. At that pt top 3 move on. i play at delaware park way too much. if i had the $ and the time, i'd probably take a shot at this tournament. but i work wednesday night.

fwiw, i've played the 11 p.m. bounty tournament twice and cashed once. i found the play to be lol bad, particularly in the second one. flopped two pair out of the bb with 26o and doubled through some donkey who had AJo. (no pair, no draw on the flop).

oh, and i run hellaterrible in cash games at del. park. started the first night there when i flopped top two, valuebet the hell out of a drunk who caught runner/runner straight ... my AQ lost to his AJ. lol.

had some winning sessions there, but way more losing ones. and i talk to a lot of the dealers from harrah's chester who go down there - they all agree the play is awful.
