Default Went to the casino yesterday...

I went down to the casino to play some poker yesterday (finally). I haven't been down there in a while.

I sat down about 10am, and left at about 2:00pm.

I played at a $50/$200 table ($1/$2 blinds). I was there about 4 hours. I bought in with $180. I got down to about $140 before I started winning. I left with $370.

So, $190 profit for 4 hours. It was fun, but felt like a grind. I hardly even played. I think I was involved in less than 10 hands.

One hand I had red 7's MP. So I make it $11 pre, and get 1 EP caller. This caller is loose as hell. He has been showing down a bunch of rags left and right.

    Anyways, I flop a set of 7's.

    He checks.
I bet $7. I did this to make him think I am just trying to steal.
    he calls.
    Turn is a 9, making a str8 possible.

    He bets out $25.
I call, but only after playing hollywood a minute. Also, I was worried his rags just got him a str8. But I wasn't convinced he made a hand.

River - Blank. No hand could have been made out of it.

He bets $75, and looks a little anxious about it.

I asked him "How much is that?" (I knew damn well how much it was)
    He replies, with a not-so-confident "$75"

I thought he might have gotten the str8, but I just didn't believe him. He looked nervous betting. It was a pot sized bet too. If he had made a hand, wouldn't he value bet? I would.

"I call" I announce verbally, I didn't even get the chips. I laid my cards face up to avoid any further delay.

He says "man I didn't think you had a set."

I say "that's what I wanted you to think."

    Dealer ships it to ME.

I got a few more hands, and left. I threw the dealer about 7 $1 chips as a tip (I always give the dealer my white when I leave a winner) and left with $370.

I really made some good plays yesterday. Most of my winning hands didn't go to showdown though. I think I am a bit too agressive. I am worried about river rats, so I make them PAY to chase.

I had aces earlier this game. I took it down on the turn. I turned a set of aces. I raised $11 pre, $25 flop, and $55 turn.

My inexperienced and way too loose opponent folded the turn. I should be happy, because I am sure he would've sucked me out if he saw the river.

Anyways, a very good experience for me. I have got to play some more poker soon.

    Peace.

That is very cool, sounds like your a cool customer at the live NL tables something I have got to learn as I feel like Im a walking tell and then like a deer caught in the headlights, but I decided next time I go with $100 Im going with caring if I lose it all and gonna play some poker damnit

Hey you said you type the dealer all your $1 at the end, what about during the game, Whoever wins the hand tips the dealer usually $1 or $2, so you tip on top of tipping or not tip during the session. ALl I know all the money going into the rake machine, into the tip box and the badbeat box is going non stop

If the dealer ships a decent pot to me (maybe $20 and up), I always give him/her a buck or two. If it is only a $10 pot, I don't tip the dealer.

When I leave, if I have 5 or 6 white, I will throw them to the dealer (if I am up).

Even though the dealer has no control over me winning, I still take care of them. I feel it is good karma.

    Anyways, peace.

BUt dont they switch dealers every 30 minutes, where I play there is a constant rotation of dealer and a constant rotation of hot runs and cold runs LOL it seems with the change of dealers

Yeah they do switch every 30 mins or so. The dealer tips don't go to just one dealer, they go into a box for all dealers to split.

Also sometimes luck does change with a different dealer. Some dealers never flop any broadway cards. I kinda just think it's random, and there is no pattern.

    Peace.

    "Rigged".... obviously

DanAbs, if you're taking '$100' to the $1/$2, you're only going to be playing with 50bb's. Learn some pointers for playing shorterstack play on cash tables (unexploitable plays). You'll be doubling up in no time & playing deepstacked gl sir

Only thing rigged PO was that MTT you won yesterday (NICE PLAY BTW)

What I was saying I hate when a dealer has me on a heater than a new dealer comes and it seems to cool off, I now nothing is different because they use a different deck each hand rotation 3 or 4 decks that pop up in the middle of the table.

I gotta find out about this tip stuff, as I thought each dealer kept their own tips in their own brown box they carry with them to each new table, but if they are dividing them equally with everyone, they I think Im way over tipping, maybe not for the amount hands I play NL. But these guys make out good as tehy get a tip from the winning player each hand but I have never seen a person leave a session and just flip one dealer a big tip.

That's how the tips work here. Maybe in the places by you, they do take their box with them or whatever. HMMMMMM.

Don't tip unless you win. Just slide them a buck or 2 when the ship the pot to you. That's what I do.
