Hot live league action last night but none poker related READ THIS

Lots of excitment last night playing in my live league game so check out what happened last night

The live league plays different venues all week long and you just go to whereever you want to play. SO last night Im playing and we had about 18 people playing and everyone is just puts their stuff on eating tables and such.

Some dude comes in, says he new in town and loos for a take out menu and job application and then I just quit paying attention to him and played some more

About 30 minutes later, some dude and his girl is like were missing a cell phone NICE NEW ANDROID PHONE WITH THE BIGGEST SCREEN. They just got them a few days earlier/

Cant find the phone anywhere so they have a GPS on the other phone that tracked them to the missing phone which was appox 2 miles away from where we were playing. At this point, A marine, an ex NY cop (looks more mafia or shady than cop), and a bouncer at a strip club here all jump up and leave to look for the dude.

They are gone for 1hr and 1/2 and seems these people lived in the same apt complex as the ex NY cop. SO they way it went down was, 2 stayed outside the back of the building and the ex cop went up and to the door and texted give back the phone now. ALl of sudden some dude in the apt comes out with a knife and a big argument ensues, brining up the other 2 poker player and in return 5 other dudes pop out the apt. SOmewhere in all this the ex cop flashes his badge and the people who stole the phone called the cops

Cops arrive, the theives say he was impersonating a cop and Im not sure what else happened but they almost arrested the ex cop and the other poker players for harassement. So later they return to the poker venue without the phone but tell us al what happens.

The bouncer dude starts texting them, telling them We know your faces and were you live and we will see you soon and then texted again, Oh yea and next time their will be no cops.

These theives claimed they didnt have the phone to the cops but obviously were getting these texts.

SO people are pissed at the poker game now and about an hour later, a van drives up and hands the guy his phone and drives off. NOw the ex cop is like WHAT WHERE LETS GET THOSE GUYS and everyone calmed him down, We got the phone back its cool.

THe guy who returned it was not the guy who stole it SO WHAT DO YALL FIGURE

a) the cops told them if you got the phone RETURN IT

b) Other roomates didnt know their roomate stole a phone and thought the poker guys were the trouble

c) They realized the guy was an ex cop and lived in the same complex and IM SURE WAS firing zingers at them when they first arrived and figured this was gonna get out of control

d) THe threat texts made them realize they need to get the phone back

ANYWAYS, too much action to play good poker but WHAT A INTERESTING NIGHT

hmm I think the only conclusion I can come to is if live games were better regulated then none of this would have happened

I cant believe your prepared to play in a place where someone might steal something - its shocking

that the casino is allowing riff raff like this in to commit crime is a disgrace and they shouldn't have a licence - revoke it now

I saw it all coming by the way - its inevitable when casinos allow degen gamblers to congregate in one place it just attracts more criminals like thieves, hookers and also people who just enjoy a bit of recreational gambling - all this having fun had to end and then innocent victims will be created

I think the safest thing to do would be if everyone could maybe play at their local casino but via the computer at home or something then this would never have happened

just a thought

was this a US casino ? tut tut something like this would never have happened in the UK

at least nobody shot anyone I thought that was how it always ended up from the TV

RELAX SB (this was played in a hot dog only resturant)

THis wasnt the card room it was my live league where everynight of the week they hold poker in multiple venues around town, ie returants, bars, VFWs etc (SO we arent talking regulations or anything, just pratice and fun of playing live cheap) and remember we play for points to get into the Money MTT every 2 months and to go for WINS to get bigger stacks at the semi annuals which 1st place is a $1500 WSOP seat. (PICTURE PLACES THE SIZE OF THAT TORUNY THAT KEVINALLTHA???? POSTED UP A FEW MONTHS AGO)

ITs free poker except you tip the dealers and get bigger starting stacks if you give the venue food or drink business so we got everything from the folks who say Ill never play cards for money (ie.. either lost their ass at the card room or a religious zealot, but most lost thier ass cause some dont even like to talk about it) and ranges in play ability to people who can go to the card room and take down big mTT's (Im always picking their brains for knowledge) so its a wide spectrum of people

TRUST ME at the CARD ROOM with DOg track betting, Satty betting on every sport possibe and a huge cardroom. THERE IS NO RIFF RAFF there as these nice looking dudes walking around will have you taken care of if you try ripping them off

OFF TOPIC AGAIN a little, my live league is always looking for dealers and Im thinking of letting them train me so I can see more hands live and see how people play certain situations and wondering if this would help me, or if not.

DANG SB just re-read the whole post. TOO MUCH TV, whatcha think people can just walk into to the card rooms and shoot up everyone and take the money. With the 5 zillion cameras and probably hidden rooms you dont know about. Plus all the cash aint exaclty sitting in registers . I was just sharing a league story that I found funny WEDS night and Im lucky I didnt get shot cause Im friends with the resutrant owners and when the dude came in I was acting like an employee and was gonna take his order and he asked me for a to go menu, said he was new in town and needed an application and a coupon book so he was trying to distract me as much as possible and didnt even relaize it as I was just F'ning around at the resturant

How far into the league are you so far DanAbs? Where are you currently sitting in the standings/leaderboard for the WSOP $1500 seat?

Good luck in the league DanAbs!! Really hope you take it down... would be a great experience to go play a WSOP event on the cheap. Lots of practise gettin' to play 'live' games too. Ever read up on any 'Navarro' articles? (might be beneficial while playin' vs. Noobs.. cuz they're play will obviously be unpredictable as all get up... but maybe with picking up some additional 'live tells' you could crush them regularly.

Too fucked up to explain but IL try took 15th on the cake MTT for a big $3 ALright now Foward is the only way

OK league 2x a year we have a bi mothnly MTT with all cities involved and in this league it is JAcksonville Orlando and Daytona 2x a year we play for a WSOP seat for a $1500 buy in so its not the MAin event but FUCK its free

We play 7 nights a week sometimes 2 or 3x a night at different venues around town and every time you win you get 500 extra chips at the semi annual so some folks start with 4x the starting stacks as others basically if you play 7 venues a night you are playing for a bigger starting stack. I play 1 to 3x a week just for live experience

YOu dont know where this event is gonna be played and I had 18 wins last time but htey changed venues to 3 hours away from daytona so I didnt go

I aint gonna lie the league is is fucking my game, too many soft players and then I play the same crap online and bust out so I DUNNO as one dude told

"I HOPE YOU AINT JUDING YOURGAME BY THIS CRAP" and this dude makes real money LIVE so I do listen I know the good players and pick their brains

Its fun to play some cheap live poker but when youre playing right getting sucked out by the dude playing K4 and then he wants to tell you shit, I just look at them "REALLY" for some reason IM an action getter, I raise a pot and get as much action as I can handle and these people dont get it YOU PEOPLE HAVE SORTA TRAINED ME (ALL FORUM PEOPLE THAT HAVE A CLUE and damn tha includes you PO) and I dont come in with crap,

Stealing here is worthelss until you get the people who suck out and you if good players are still in, you can steal but its a fine line but this is fucking up my online game sorta of taking me back 6 months
