Certain net gambling companys are still making a profit but only because of the sports book activities, is this situation going to be a downward trend???

I betting it is, when you consider that 2 casino chains have already express interest in a new software platform that has LIVE poker dealers from a live cardroom. I personaly have doubts about the above making money due to the time span between deals "Will Punters lose interest??? I would, I might as well go to the Casino and play.

Hope that helps

I was asked about this by the manager of my card room, would I be interested in a web game with real dealers, I said I dont know, I think it would work, however ever one I know has stoped playing on a computer so I not sure if they will go back.

UB a rubbish site with no US players on it

i preffer live game no doubt about that, but online i can find a game at any time at any stake i want to, and you can win a seat at wsop for really small amount of money. live game give u so much more information, u can sometime play without even looking your cards. but, ull probably end up in room that is filled with cigar smoke, games begins at late evening till early morning hours, which sometimes make u feel kinda dirty and outlaw

on the other hand, on the internet there are all sort of players, and if u are going to do things right u will have to consider your br and u'll probably encounter most ilogic plays and other strange moves which very often ends up bad for u. gamblers in my hood will often say "u can make full house with any two cards" so thats why i still hesitate to play higher stakes live here, its very very risky if u r not rich or have considerable br u want to spend.

recently they put in electronic hold'em table in one of the card rooms...every player has a display in front of him to see the cards and there is a display in the middle for showing the board. u have chips, and dealer...i didn't quite see him doing much

anyway thats the most stupid variation of poker i've ever seen...nor live nor online.

bottom line is...when i do have game money i will play live, and make some easy money from time to time and when i don't i'll stick to my online br and small stake tournaments.

Post Live vs online ?

Do you even bother to compare these two with each other ?

What would you rather want , see how the cards are dealt , how people react to there cards, even if they have a solid poker face , chris jezus ferguson - phil ivey and so on .

Or is it the fact you would know nobody has a superaccount which they can see your hole cards with , people reraising you knowing what the outcome of the flop is going to be , even if they had a weaker hand , im not saying never play online anymore cause it's no use , no ofcourse not , just find the correct table and you'll be fine , without hoping the bots show up at your table , taking all your money .

Even do'h live is much more ideal way of playing , online is still the biggest company to makes milions and milions , avarage revenue is 200 $ milion dollars every month . this is just a estimate from the year 2005, so it might be more or less due the .. lack of confidence in online poker.

But ey , keep us hooked and nothing goes wrong . We think they are the fish , cause we play like a pro, but it's us being the fish losing our money to the donk that thinks he had the best hand .

Online we are the fish .
The donks are the sharks . We attract them to the game, not them us ...
think about it ...

Playing on line is good for me because I can do it any time I want. I also don't have to converse with people if I'm not in the mood.

Either way. I love to play.
some might think im a bit rude, but even live, if i dont feel like talking i may look at the person speaking to me, to the point of staring almost but if i dont feel like talkin i dont. basically, i dont feel that by playin live i have to talk to you. its really not so much being rude as it is that live i need to concentrate more due to most poker rooms i play in having slots nearby and just noise in general

Default online v live ... or a bit of both

hi all

It's definately been a confidence blow with first the Absolute and then the UB scandals - but as I've said before these were single members of staff exploiting an access privilege that they simply shouldnt have ... it doesnt seem to be more widespread than that

we did however amend our reviews of these sites accordingly - as its only fair that visitors / members are aware of the issue at these 2 sites - even though it hasnt reoccured

the net geek players are ever more vigilant and are looking at all sites to see if any similar issues come up

I dont think the amount of players / playing on online poker is decreasing - infact as far as I am aware its still growing ... but I think while the amount of online player increases this inevitably leads to an increasing percentage wanting to try live games also - which is great

anyway I dont think you have to choose - you can do both,

online is great for player when and where you like, no planning or travel just logon

live is great for getting the "real" experience whether its a home or casino game but this
requires planning & travel

I really dont think the two have to be mutually exclusive - you can equally make more or lose money at either - the fundamental key is to be a winning player

but bear in mind the roi that alot of longer terms players / pros work on is alot lower than we tend to think of

cheers scrawnybob
