In my opinion I don't think one is better than another. I think they both have there advantages and there disadvantages. Most people look at personal thoughts about each one then there actual advantages/disadvantages. They are both good to play and both good to play but for totally different reasons.

---Cash Games---

_Advantages_
  • You have a great game the payoff is gonna be huge if you have a decent caller.
  • your playing off of a higher percentage of skill rather than luck.
  • many more not enough time
_Disadvantages_
  • you lose a great hand on an all in bye bye money
  • if you play at low tables donks risk there last $4-5 no matter what hand they have and no matter what the flop is
  • many more time is of the essence for me lol
---Tournaments---

_Advantages_
  • you lose a great hand you got many chances to regain those chips instead of regaining actuall money you lost.
  • its much easier to read people than at a cash game because you are actually playing a lot more hands
  • many more but sheesh still got a few more paragraphs to write
_Disadvantages_
  • once blinds get high enough you are gonna have donks going all in
  • if someone is short stacked your gonna have donks going all in
  • you will always have that one person who goes all in
  • feel free to add more im not the only one here
as you can tell there are many things to go against but it is mostly preference, preference, preference. One is not better than another and thats the truth

I enjoy tournament poker more than cash games. When people have the option to rebuy as they do in cash games, the level of good poker usually goes down, making it tougher to win. if you know that if you lose all your chips on this one hand, and you can just buy more chips, people make bad calls often, but thats just my opinion.

Default Cash game or tournaament

I much rather play in a tournament. In a cash game you can lose alot of money in ten minutes time .

the up side is- that you can win a nice sum in those ten minutes

but as far as ive seen, cash players do not play so well at tournaments.

this is because they are "used to" bluff!

I dont think its so much that. Cash players are and can afford to be more patient waiting on quality hands and getting a good read on the other players.
In tourneys, you are forced to play marginal hands late in the game when the blinds are high.

This is why a large number of great cash players dont fare as well in tournaments, they are waiting on good hands.

One must learn to change styles when switching from cash to tourney.

I'm much better at cash games (I almost always turn a good profit), but I always play tourneys. I love the structure. I can't resist.

Its my main downfall, and its why I have a net loss in poker, lol.

But all in idiots are SOOO easy to beat in cash games since you don't have to worry about the blinds eating you up, you can just be patient.
