trip to reno
Hello all,
Jeff and I just got back from a week in Reno. We had a great time. It’s not often we get a chance to play live poker.
The slots were pretty tight at Harrah’s so I didn’t really win any money there. I did win $100 on Wheel of Fortune but that’s about it.
We spent a lot of time playing poker. I joined a tournament and knew
I was in trouble when the starting chips were $1500 and they gave us two $500 chips. There were about 30 people to start and I went out about 15. I did last a little longer than Jeff. The competition was pretty tough.
Most days I didn’t win anything. We played 3/6 limit. Jeff did pretty well. By the last day I was really tired of losing. I spent about 8 hours at the table and won just enough to stay that long but never really got over my initial investment.
We took a break to see a show. The show was great and it revived us so we were ready to play again. By this time its 10pm and we are leaving at 6am. Knowing it was our last day, we just couldn’t go to bed yet.
When we gamble we always put our winnings in “the bank” not to be touched. If we didn’t do this we would never come home with money. Well, as I said I had only been losing. You guessed it-I took money out of “the bank” to play Hold’em one last time.
This time I did much better and doubled my stack so I felt very good. Finally got to bed about 2am and had to get up at 4:30. To say the least, I am very tired!
We had a great time but it’s good to be home. I found out another reason playing online has its advantages. Everybody at the table, including the dealer, had a cold. Not a problem when playing on line!
Hope you all have good luck at the tables. See you there!
