Thumbs down Rebuy/Shoot

Well rebuy tourneys often attract rich foks, which attrack the shark to it, then everybody thinks they are the best cause they can rebuy , as they see someone already has 16.000 chips and the rest 3000 4000 , you think hey i need to make chips aswell and push it in with any reasonable hand like AQ, or even some people go for it with 78 910 J9 it's hillarious at one point till you get KK , push it in , get called by 46 and they make a straight on you then it starts .. ohhh now you really pissed me off , you rebuy intending to bust him and the rest of the ( ** donkies ** ) , again it's a all in party, and you seem to win avarage one you go YE, 9000 chips , ill stick to it, but wait a minute your dealt AA on the Small blind, and pray for them to shove it in , the guy that won with 46 suddenly pushes his 11 K stack into the middle you go YE ill take it , so 2 others call aswell and you INSTANT CALL, ending up losing against Q8 , two pair, you got 1 pair aces, the donk wins the ffs Q8 hand and now has your and the other chips making him 24 k chips , you rebuy one more time , now people already have made 6 k plus and your at 2 or 3 k , ( cause you want to play it tight ) only 4 people left with a short stack like you, believe me you wont make it , the odds are against you now in any way .

If you want to play rebuy's. atleast have the buy in x 10 . since i expect you to shove it in half of those times anywayz .

For the ones that dont rebuy ... have you ever made it to final table there ? it's a joke .

my advice : LOL WHAT ? I myself dont like rebuy tours so i got no advice.
Im very bad in rebuy tours.

In rebuys, you have to approach them as freerolls. Play fairly tight in the first hour and take advantage of the loose players jamming with anything.

well i used to think the same as you untill i met one of my friends that plays the 109 rebuy on stars every day and come in the money and most of them being the final table. his strategy is awsome. he plays the first few levels just super aggressive untill he has a stack that he feels comfortable with going deep then starts to play super tight but still aggressive till the break. then after that he continues to play aggressive but starts to play position and pin points those players that are still around that were those people that got lucky to get there because at this point those players usually start to play tight.

Default Love & Hate & Luck & Balls

Like iraisejj and willie beaman (above) it's a serious love/hate thing for me too; and although I try to play tight and promise myself I won't rebuy, unfortunately the lure of being able to get more chips seems to suck me into stupid loose behavior more often than not.

However, in full disclosure mode - although I kind of hate myself for it - I do have to say that I actually won some good money in a tournament after I broke the No Rebuy promise to myself and took the plunge.

The transition of playing style shown by the friend of mundybags1 (above) from crazy loose & aggressive to tight and aggressive is the scenario promoted by Daniel Negreanu here

Maybe I'll try that some time, but I'm not sure I'll have the bankroll to comfortably do it for a while.

i think you either have to be a donk and just go for the double up everytime you have a hand, and try building a big stack, or you have to just sit out and avoid the first hour and save your money. you'll be at a disadvantage since some people will have a lot of chips, but if you cash, you get good profit.

Default A matter of perspective

When i enter a $5 rebuy, I lookat it as a regular $20 tourn, knowing that I'll prob rebuy 2x and add-on. If I don't have to rebuy...all the better. Usually I try to make a move with no rebuy. If I am not successful, I double rebuy and play tight until the add-on. I have had a lot of success this way.
