I am not a fan, but you can get a nice chipstack from loose players that keep rebuying. I was watching some of the WCOOP on PokerStars and Dario Minieri rebought 26 times for $500 a pop.

Default Sucker money

I believe that rebuys are generally sucker bets. If your cards are good, then you won't need rebuys.... if you are having a bad card day, you will be throwing good money after bad. Do a reality check!

[quote=FITEMAN;47568]When i enter a $5 rebuy, I lookat it as a regular $20 tourn, knowing that I'll prob rebuy 2x and add-on. If I don't have to rebuy...all the better. Usually I try to make a move with no rebuy. If I am not successful, I double rebuy and play tight until the add-on. I have had a lot of success this way.

I know many players who play buyins exactly as mentioned above, and do quite well. I personaly would prefer to play a $20 buyin freeze out, with less players and probably the same prize pool. The problem I have with rebuys is there will always be players with deeper pockets who are prepared to go all in against multiple all ins. This cancels the effect of the purpose of going all in. All in betting IMO, is to isolate down to one opponent. I cannot recall how many times AA has busted in multiple all ins by suited connectors, or low connectors. It's a case of horses for courses and if it works for you, keep playing and winning.

lol ten times is a lot. It is just amazing statistically you had him beat 10 hands... esp all in. That would be a funny game to watch.

Another one bites the dust.

I hate rebuy tournaments. I guess I'm just not adjusting correctly. I actually won one of them the other day, but I try not to get into them in the first place (it was an accident). I like when the tournament is not turbo or rebuys or add-ons... give me a straight up solid poker game, only one all-in!

I was actually going to play a rebuy this morning as I found I still had $40 on CD poker. I missed the start of the game by a couple of minutes and noticed one player had 4x the starting chips. I decided instead of playing, to watch this player. Within 4 orbits the chip count was up to 11k. Then the musical chairs started, in about 10 mins the player was moved at least 6 times, ALWAYS ended up sat in the same seat position and in the sb, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The player called multiple allins, winning every time and making multiple players rebuy. This wasn't a $3 or $5 game, it was $10 with 268 rebuys, the player cashed 8th for $144.
