rebuy tournies aren't my favorite but i will play them... who cares if they wanna spend more money.... i don't change the way i play just because it is a rebuy...and i don't rebuy...just let them keep rebuying that makes ur winnings higher when u get ITM...

I agree with Kingjames07, They are definately not my favorite tornaments too play. I play them and usually don't rebuy. I have rebought though in the past but I always limit myself too 2 rebuys and a addon. I play them like a regular tornament one good thing about rebuys if you have the nuts your almost guarenteed a few callers if you push. I also noticed that a lot of people after break is still stuck in the all in frame of mind soo you can easily build chips.. One thing I don't like about rebuys is they just seem too take forever lol.. Gl too you at the tables

Default Styles

I know what you all mean about the donks, but really its a style that many adopt.

They play their draws big and hope to hit, cause when they do they'll get paid off bigtime and get a good stack for the second stage.

The difference between this and the normal style of tournament play of building a stack slowly playing good starting cards is that they expect to have to rebuy and you don't. When you get duffed it hurts as you expect your good hands to stand.

I don't play many of them, but if I do then its NO rebuys, I'll take my chances with good cards. If it fails well it was a cheap tourney to enter and get some practice with.

I may stand corrected, but I'm sure Daniel Negrano has a lot to answer for by exploiting and popularising this style.

I never found a reason to use a rebuy in a daily or weekly scheduled tournament.
Maybe I can find it useful for a one time tournament that is a satellite to a bigger one, but not for those that can be played again tomorrow or next week.

Some friend of mine used to MTT freezouts started playing with rebuys.

They studied. And are enjoying. They're enjoying playing for the flip with the donkeys, and somehow they know that at the hand of the first hour they'll be deep / nice stacked.

I've tried some with limited rebuys and add-on, I cannot play like the donkeys, but I push it when I think I should without any fear of loosing (as I can rebuy).
Kind of a fearless TAG, and I'm getting deep, always finishing top10 after first hour.

The big thing with rebuys is, I never know who's donkey and who's shark when they're AI.
