Default another great poser

hi GT

havent done the odds so this is more on the fly as I would think I would play (so probably not great maths wise)

If I was the villan

I have to be honest if I was the villan and therefore blind to what the hero has I'd have been comfortable calling the preflop raise

The heros bet shouts PP but not neccesarily AA

that flop helped the villan massively from his previous preflop position - so if I was the villan I would want some action ... but personally when the hero leads out with a pot size bet

if I was playing the villan I like those outs with that board alot ... I'd have guessed 60/40 so not the right odds to strictly call but I like my position ... so I would have to call but only flat call

I dont think I would have re-raised ... I'd be happy with the draws and having a not totally unreasonable chance against the possible hands I'd have put the hero on (IMHO the hero's preflop raise signals a strong hand but that could be KK JJ etc and that would put me at better than a 60/40

so villan call (no raise on the flop)

also as the villan I'm thinking that the hero is 5/1 chip stack disadvantage unless he has a wad in his pocket - and that might be useful to find out too

If I was the hero

big dilema - I really dont like to get a hand like AA in early position because it either looks obvious you have a big hand or you end up flat calling / 1x raise and end up with a family pot or you end up raising it up and whoever acts after you could either be calling with something dangerous (like our villan has) or just has the later position to control the hand too much

tricky - I guess I like the hero's raise (but as the hero) I want a call from one player (but not a tricky flop like wot happened)

wouldnt have been worried if the flop had only a straight OR only a flush draw but both does increase outs and also increases the likely hood they have one or the other

so I think as the hero when the flop comes down ... also bearing in mind I have only £110 chips and the pot is already worth £25 I would be tempted to jam the pot by more than a pot sized bet

I'm thinking he has already called my 3xpot bet preflop - he will either call alot now on the flop holding nothing anyway or he needs to face a big bet to be put off his draw(s) or at least pay dearly for that draw now rather than get to hit it at a reasonable price

so on the flop I would bet £48 / £50 and if he called then slow down (but put the other £25 ish in anyway if bet at or re-raised all-in on the flop)

I'd have to be sitting with another £100 / £150 or so in my pocket to have sat down at that table in the first place ;-)

I guess my thought's are ...

hero - right preflop / not big enough bet on the flop

villan - good but aggressive call preflop / should only flat call on the flop

cheers scrawnybob

Hi Bob and All

Its a very weird hand to play In one club I play, I would want the Villians Hand and in most other clubs I want the AA, but I know where every ones comming from, My 1st look with the TJs I was thinking re-raise and then the trial came out and I looked at it for a long while,...... well all I can say is If I see this to-night Live ie I have TJs on a flop like this I going to fold and give the Hero credit for a SET.

Arrow Woke Up this afternoon

Well I woke up this afternoon and had a live hand from last night in my head, later on that......

The AAvTJs hand:- My head says I fold, My heart says go with it, your a Gambler and stop being a wuss...So My head rules and I fold because I am a Mathemitician not a Gambler.......

So last night live, cann't remember the exact semantiecs, but basicly in My BB I have 78o and UTG straddled £10.00 I call and he raises ...Mrmmmm sounds like AA to me but I call! ( I AM NOT BEING BULLIED)

Flop 7,7,8

I raise the pot not sure how much but I using Pony Black Chips ( a pony £25.00 chips are black)

He re-Pots .....Holy Shit I think its christmas

Now I know this trite but I smile and say to this Fella:-
" Dont worrie sonny it will all be over soon" Rounders Quote,

guess what he says???

"Impossible I have the NUTS"..........

I think about it theres some more Bantor and he is eyeballing me all the time, I say

"OK I know there is no friends in poker and I have a really good hand here"

"He then says Gypsy I sware your AA is no good"!

"OK I dont think I can put them down tho XXXXX"

He says:- "I show if you fold I respected the way you played them" ( I know hes got pocket 8's but I love the hollywood of it all!

OK I fold and throw MY ""AA "" in the muck

BINGO 88

MORAL OF MY STORY:-

The More You keep your mouth shut in live play, the more MONEY you will make"

Regards, a musing from the rail

The Gypsy

It was a GREAT Laydown!, even if I do say so Myself......

Interesting Points:-

1/ He didnt have the Nuts 77 was the Nut Pocket.

2/ He had me on AA and he got that wrong as well( I had 78o), When he had me on AA, He played his 88 very well trying to find out if I had pocket 7's, he also didnt want me drawing to an Ace, King ( if I had pocket kings)etc.

3/ Players like the Devilfish, Luske, etc etc will get you taking before the game, and on the game, They are Masters at weedling INFORMATION out of you.

Regards

GT
