scotty is indeed the real deal when it comes to poker. all aspects of his game are perfect and now it really shows because of this win at the horse tournament. also his laugh cracks me up so thats why i like him lol

he has some nice bling too. the espn schedule printed "the $50,000 HORSE event". no wonder the cash prizes were so nice for the entire final table. that's some big bucks baby. you know it seems to me this event used to be a lot cheaper. i read somewhere that someday this will be the main event.

it is a hard tourney (5 days with only 148 entries, all good players), it was a marathon rally when down to 3 handed. great that scotty baby won it......good to see him win again after the blown up in last year WSOP ME.

Yep I think over the last 3 years or so the WSOP HORSE is pretty much recognised by the pro's at least as THE WSOP event that marks you out as THE World Champion

The $50K buy-in puts it beyond most (avioding the 5-6k entries of the main event) and therefore attracts the pro's who arent so worried about the buy-in and are also experienced enough to be able to have the skills to play the variety of poker games in HORSE tournament

That said there are going to be some amazing NLTH players who arent so strong at other games so I guess it finds the World Champion of mixed poker (games)

eg. Phil Helmuth is NEVER going to become the WSOP champion of HORSE or cash games AFAIKS

It's all come a long way from the first WSOP where I think they just got together over a few chips and beers and VOTED on the world champion ;-)

Phil came close to his 12th bracelet in that other HORSE tourney though. I think he went out 3rd. You're probably right though, unlikely he will ever win the 50K event. He's just not that good at the other games.

I'm glad Scotty won. I've heard some people find him annoying but I think he's great. Always having fun and plays great.

cardplayer magazine delivered a great puff piece for the prince of poker while espn showed how obnoxious he was on his way to victory. I was excited to tune in and see him win and then was horribly mortified to see him get the bracelet. Chip Reese must have been turning in his grave.

I have to admit I was pretty disappointed with the way Scotty acted at the final table. Normally his antics don't bother me but he crossed the line several times.

i feel the same way. It is too bad that he won such a prestigous event that way. Especially when they were honoring Chip Reese. I am still a fan of Scotty but it was not his finest hour.

He is a great Horse player though.
