Question Bally's in AC

I was in a $40/$10 torney on a Tues. afternoon and there were 56 entrants. This was my 1st casino live tourney and I had a great time. I will definitely do it again but I have some questions. Everyone was very well mannered. There was alot of staring and talking by the opponents in a hand. Trying to entice tells but I found that just added to the fun. What I am wondering about is showing cards. Often a player would show the cards he was folding to a player next to him that was still involved in the hand. This gave the player and edge over the others in the hand, namely me. I did not say anything but I am wondering if I should of. I later talked to my husband who was playing at another table in the tourney about this and he said that it was happening at his table too although in his case he was benefitting. Just wanted some thoughts on this since as I said earlier I am new to live tourneys.

Also as a side not when we registered the tourney director asked my husband and myself if we wanted to be at same table. What is with that?

That is quite strange and I assumed in concordance with tournament poker that showing someone who is still acting in the hand your cards is consider collusion. I've never seen that in tournies in AC, but if that continues to happen you should tell the floor next time.

Default bad ettiquette and show one show all

hi

its bad ettiquette - the dealer should have picked up on this and the tournament director etc

simple rule with exposing cards is - show one show all

its bad ettiquette to do it in a live hand - but absolutely no way should one player be able to see another players hand and not everyone else ... a poorly run table & tournament IMHO

and I would definately have complained to the dealer ... the first time it happened

cheers scrawnybob

"Often a player would show the cards he was folding to a player next to him that was still involved in the"

The Rules:-

If a Player shows his starting hand to another player, all players at the table have the right to see that players cards!

You Can:-

1. Ask to see the cards ( I do often)

2. Ask for the player to be watched as you suspect he/she is colluding ( weather you think he/she is, it dosnt mater It's got great wind up value)

3. When the player protests from the above, Tell him/her :- they have a big mouth and a small dick/tits and show the table there sexually parts to prove they ant:- AUTOMATIC TILT, Trust Me <smile>

I have been planning too try a live tornament at Bally's so this information will be usefull to me when I do. It doesn't sound right I've never heard of it before this blog showing a folded hand when other players are still playing. Something about it just don't sound right, sounds like collision. If I play and I see any of that I would complain so much they would get sick of me. I would definately ask too see the cards if they say its not "collision"

Default Thanks

Thanks for all the great feed back. I figured it was wrong but like I said it was my first tourney. Next time a will say something. I tend to be pretty quite at a table, like to let my game do the talking but I guess in this case I should of spoke up.

Thanks again!
