PokerPlayer Championship 2008 - Anyone Played In A Leg Yet?
I am playing in the last leg in Brighton and just wanted to see if anyone has played in one of the events that ave been played so far. If so what was it like, did you enjoy it, what was the structure like.
Also is anyone else playing in the Brighton event, if your local you should come down and play. Its restricted to 100players so wont be a complete crapshoot hopefully, you can buy in as of next week!
Hope to hear from at least one of you!

Well its been a week since the event and I think I can finally think clearly about my play and I think I can honestly say I am pretty happy with my play. I only played two big pots and was a huge favourite in both but lost both on the river to a guy hitting a straight.
Those who know me and have seen some of my posts knw I don't like regaling people about bad beats so I'll just do a quick overview of both hands as it is relevant.
1 - JJ raise 4BB, SB call, flop 9,2,3 rainbow, bet 2/3 pot, called, turn 5, bet pot size, called, river A, check check. Oppo turns over K4 for a straight.
2 - AA limp UTG (hoping for a raise), 5 players to pot, flop 4, 7, 10, all in, 1 caller, turn 5, river 3 to get the straight again.
I can take one thing from it, I was favourite to the very last card. Altho the limp with AA prob cost me I was mixing it up as I had raised UTG a couple of times in the previous few hours. And on the first hand when the showdown occured everyone at the table inc the dealer shook their heads in disbeleif and the guy's excuse made the guy to my left laugh. His excuse was 'I called coz I dont like being left with small blue chips in front of me'
While at the time I was pissed off looking back I am pretty happy, and it has encouraged me to play live tournies as well as the cash games.
