What's New In Version 4.5 - Live Wednesday 1 April @ 00:00 (CarbonPoker Time)

Carbon Poker is proud to announce the launch of its highly anticipated release of Version 4.5 and the long awaited VIP program. The new software and VIP program bring with them a handful of changes that you need to know about and understand in order to get the most out of your CarbonPoker experience. Below you will find a details of all the new additions to Version 4.5 and the VIP program.
4.5 Software Features / Changes

Poker Game Personalisation - allows players to select from several different graphics for the poker game including:

• table backgrounds
• table floors
• table rails
• card backs
• general user interface tinting

Poker Game Mini Mode - allows players to put the poker game into "mini mode" such that it has a minimal interface and is still legible at small resolutions. This allows multi-tablers the ability to run more tables on the screen at the same time and still have them all visible. The user interface has been simplified when in mini-mode to allow for basic actions and the user can easily switch between normal and mini mode on an individual window basis. Further to this when the table is being used in mini mode, players can manually resize the window and use the mini mode interface in full screen.
Poker Game Grid Mode - has been overhauled to allow players to specify any grid combination with up to 5x5 games. It allows the poker game to be split out into a separate window and/or back into a grid window on an individual window basis.
Tournament Entries and Payouts - tournament entry, addons, rebuys, bounties, and payout schedules have been totally overhauled to include greater flexibility of options. The client has been updated to give players the choice between multiple payment options for tournament entry.
Heads Up Sit'n'Go Rematch - now offer the ability for players to rematch immediately after the end of the game.
Network Diagnostic Tool - brand new tool that is built into the client and is offered to users when they get disconnected or are unable to connect. May provide help in identifying the problem the user is experiencing.
VIP Program Features

New VIP points system to replace excisting comp point system.
VIP Points can be used:

• to enter guaranteed tournaments
• to exchange for cash
• to enter real money SnG's
• to enter Live Seat satellites
• to purchase items from the NEW store
• enter exclusive VIP level Freerolls
• to enter VIP point MTT's & SnG's
• to clear deposit bonuses

VIP Players will receive cash back rebates depending on their VIP level
5 Tier program, where players earn entry into the various levels based on VIP Points.

What's Changed in V4.5

Below is a list of changes that the new VIP program and V4.5 software will incur.
New $50,000 Weekly Guaranteed Tournament - 15:00 every sunday server time.
New VIP Store - the old comp point store has been replaced with a new store with loads more items available for players. Including: Poker accessories, merchandise, TV's, ipods, overseas holidays.... The choices are endless!
Tournament Entry - Players are now able to enter into tournaments with both VIP points or cash. In certain tournaments players will be able to use both.
Ring Games & Tournaments - All real money ring games and tournaments no longer award comp points and will now award players VIP Points.
Freerolls:
The $50,000, $10,000, $2,000 & $1,000 freerolls will cease to run as of Wednesday 1 April @ 00:00 (CarbonPoker Time). The current freeroll schedule will be cancelled to make way for the all new $50,000 weekly guaranteed tournament and the new exclusive freerolls for each level of the VIP program.
All players with existing entry coupons for the above freeroll tounaments will be exchanged for VIP points during the software changeover.

I just opened up the software to have a look around. I first tried about 12 noon UK time - it was due to be operational from 5am UK time - but it was out of action.
It was only up and running around 6pm so they obviously hit a few teething problems. I haven't played any games yet, but it looks to be a pretty cool update.
You can customise the cards and tables to suit your own tastes and there is a mini-mode obviously aimed at all the multi-tablers out there. First impressions are good...

I already have an account in carbon poker but I can't understand yet the main ideia of VIP programs.
Can I ask you about some more information or explaination, can be a material to me...

Looks a bit buggy - but that is to be expected with a major release. I watched as private games that were scheduled for the month all shutdown for no apparent reason...

And the fact that player admin is unavailable, so no live chat, does not make me a happy camper.

Overall its OK. dont care much if i can change color of cards table etc..... its only poker not a video game. Most functional and useful feature IMO is the way you can put multi tables in a grid for easy viewing while playing multi ring games and sng.

i just played $1.10 tourney then got 1 vip point already. in short, play frequently & get rewarded!

I have mixed emotions about the Carbon change, as I wish they had been more upfront about when it was going to happen. I had a 10K ticket remaining, and Carbon had a 10K tourney listed for 4/5 as late as the last weekend in March, so I decided to play that tourney then, which of course didn't happen as Carbon switched tickets to points on 4/2. I sent Carbon Support an email mid-March asking them when tickets had to be used by, and Support told me that any potential changes would be announced ahead of time. Just not true. On my Carbon coupon, there was no expiration date listed until AFTER the change had already happened. And if you go to Carbon's site there are still places where it says there are going to be tourneys that no longer exist. It also tells people with newfound points to use them in the store, which as of yet doesn't exist. It all seems at least sloppy and borders on shady.

It seems very appropriate that it should be released on April Fools Day - as Carbon are a bit of a joke anyway!
