    Default Bounty Tournaments

I see/play a fair amount of bounties. I think it is a fun mix up from standard MTT's. However I've tried to recruit others to play with me and they often refuse. Claiming the play is so much worse in a bounty game and they steer clear.

What is your opinion of it? Do you resist? What is your reasoning?

I LUV THEM MYSELF... YOU ARE ABLE TO RECOVER YOUR INITIAL INVESTMENT BY COLLECTING ONLY A COUPLE OF BOUNTIES.. BUTT IT DOES EFFECT THE WAY YOU WOULD PLAY SOME HANDS IN ORDER TO COLLECT THAT BOUNTY

I have only played in a couple and did well in one of them taking out few and as i remember i came in 2nd overall and won $45.00 for a $10.00 buy-in.
Maybe the reason some dont like to play bounty's is that you must be very tight aggressive and if you have a hand you better do some chip shoving as everyone else certainly will be doing the same and gunning for your stack. Its a game of do or die.

I love bounty games. They're so fun because more people are willing to chase the bounty then to actually play for the win. I play a lot of them on Cake. Mainly the guarantee bounty tournaments. Those are by far the best because not only are there bounties but there's a guaranteed nice prize pool.

I play in bounty tournies on the Merge network and did fairly well the last few months. I cashed out $500 which was seeded with bounty tourny winnings and ultimately increased at $5/$10 limit. I have had a run of bad luck at the cash tables at merge which is negating the winnings I have seen from bounty tournies.

I don,t like Bouny Tournaments very much.I like to play small ball poker and build my chip stack slowly.I finished 3rd in a bounty 25 player field tournament and only collected 1 bounty. You have to first of all have a decent chip stack and catch a hand at the right time when another Player is ALL IN. One thing is guaranteed though if your short stacked, catch AA,s and PUSH ALL IN your going get alot of callers with mediocre hands because they want your bounty so badly. On the downside with more callers there is more chances to crack your AA,s.

Thumbs up $2 Turbo Bounty Tourneys

I like the small $2 Turbo Bounty Tourneys at Carbon. I often win my buy-in back quickly playing tight-aggressive against the smaller stacks while trying to chip away at the bigger ones. The turbo aspect gets rid of a lot of the all-inners quickly and then you can get down to playing regular style poker, with the added bonus of a bounty when you knock one out.

The other day, I took my first, First Place in one of the $2 Bounty games. I had a lot of fun knocking out about a dozen people for $12 and then took first place for another $55. So, that particular day...I Loved the Bounty Tourney!

After such glowing testimonials like this one, I guess I will have to rethink my practice to stay away from bounty games. Thanks for the tips everyone. See you at the bounty match!
