    Default Bounty Tourny at Doyle's

So I deposited $100 in Doyles and planned on following strict bankroll management. However, I was too tempted by the $33 buy-in bounty tournament so decided to give it a shot. It was a daily guaranteed $10K. So I bought in and the field was 365 players.

I played tight and aggressive. I did not get tempted to go for bounties. I figured solid play was the best strategy. 6th place finish paid $288.35. I only managed 4 bounties for an additional $40.

For anyone that has played these types of tournaments before, I am looking for thoughts on a final table finish in a field of 365 with only taking 4 people out of the tournament? I thought that seemed exceptionally low.

    Thanks!

I'm embarrassed to say I actually won a bounty tourney at Doyle's (not the big one) and only took 2 bounties-mine and 2nd place.

I just never got anyone allin that I had covered until I was heads up. Which meant I would cripple them and someone else would end up with the bounty.

I'm sure my tight play contributes to the fact that I don't normally have a large stack early and so don't get a lot of bounties. I know players who don't cash but get a lot of bounties due to agressive play (and luck?).

I'm with frost on this one. getting a bounty is nice, but not mandatory. In fact, u getting 4 and ft seems a little high to me, showing a certain riskiness in your play(this might not be so, as I have no idea how your hands went down). generally tho, there are players that just wanna scalp as many as they can, and get money that way. generally more LAG players.

I generally make low bounties in such a game, like 1 or 2, but push on to the money.

I'm surprised that you got paid only $288 for a 6th place finish in a 10k guaranteed MTT, thought you should have won much more, let's say around $600-$750...

The Guarantee on Doyle's is split between the prize pool and the bounty pool I believe. I will have to check though.

I have finished high as well with very few bounties. But if I have a good sized stack and see a player in the BB very short stacked I will limp in there with with a q-8 just for a chance at that bounty because I know the player is ready to push with just about anything as well.As long as I,m not risking many chips the Bounties can be very profitable. But play tight until near the end when the Blinds start getting high and the lower stacked players are making desparate Pushes and you can pick off their bounties,
