    Default Calling bluffs

With ,imo, so much bluffing early in large mtt's, I think it is necessary to at least consider the fact that your opponent may be bluffing. Just because someone raises 3-5 times bb doesnt necessarily mean they have A K or PP. Plenty of times I'll call continuation bets with 2nd pair and take down a decent pot. Many players don't have to guts to bluff big when they are called after their flop bet. When I call a pot size bet, and after the turn they bet same amount or slightly more, a lot of times I see that as a bluff. Not always of course, and sometimes I payoff someone who is really value betting, but I think you need to be careful to ALWAYS give your opponent respect. He has to be at least a little worried you will call, even if you didn't hit the flop big.

I'd be a little worried if he fires another barrel on the turn after I just called a pot-sized bet on the flop. In early levels of some micro SNG's & MTT's you'll often have a player who is double-barrel pot-sized bet bluffing... or more commonly even.. the cbet followed by bet of same amount on turn... and then fire out huge bet on river... or check turn & fire POT-sized bet on the river. I actually prefer to put these guys allin as opposed to making the hero call..... it's great seeing them laydown their bluff unable to call after investing a good portion of their stack. (<< this is really player read dependent though & not something I'm making a habit of).
