I also heard he had a 'last longer' sidebet going in it.

Ah... it was "48" rebuys. Here's a quote from Daniel, re- wsop removing rebuy events from their schedule.
Rebuy tournaments have been left out of this year's World Series of Poker events. PokerListings gathered comments from Daniel 'KidPoker' Negreanu and it is interesting to hear them as he holds the record for having made 48 rebuys at the $1,000 event at the 2006 WSOP.
"I still hold the rebuy record and I think I also have second, third and fourth, but I was still all for getting rid of them this year and it wasn't just about saving me money. When you are giving away a World Series of Poker bracelet I think everyone should have an equal chance to win it, not just a chance based on how fat their wallets are."
Many other poker professionals agree with the removal of rebuys at the WSOP. Of course we all remember Layne Flack's comment on Doyle Brunson buying a bracelet, perhaps it was not the best way to express his thoughts on the matter, but we all understood what he was standing for. Annie Duke claims that participants agreeing to push in preflop during the rebuy period amounts to collusion. Negreanu disagrees with both points of view, but he is part of the WSOP players advisory committee which helps design the WSOP structure and there he stood for removing the rebuys from the events.
"In rebuys there is an inherent advantage for those who are willing to spend more. They are good for me, because I'm all too willing to spend, but I know it is an unfair advantage and I'd rather not have it. I've said this before: I am more than willing to put what's best for poker ahead of what's best for me." Negreanu said.Brad Booth - > "Like a fight... it's not how you start, it's how you finish"

In 2008, Layne Flack used "22" re-buys in the PLO Event but the record is Negreanu's 48 rebuys (which this last source stated was in 2006).

I am playing a rebuy tournament later, I plan on never re buying in and coming up off aggressive players that you describe, hope I have a few at my table I can double up off of and still be in it after the hour and start taking people out.

I just returned to 4K after not having posted here in 2-3 years. I pretty much avoided all the forums since BF. But to get to the point, prior to BF, I used to be a poster on a 4K competitor where you often posted also. I always found your posts to be insightful and well thought out. We even had several convrsations which you probably dont remember. Anyway, I am glad to see that you post here also and I am glad to be back at 4K. And btw, GL in the RBs. Man I wish I lived in Canada and could still play on PS.

I hate rebuys and add-ons and go out of my way to avoid them. However, with some freerolls I will rebuy and do an addon only because not many players do it and it give me an advantage.

That is so true jolub..if you can weed out the ones that can't rebuy you have a better chance of avoiding the ones that can and will bully you with any pair...R&A are not my favorite but when luck is with you it can be soooo sweet.....
