Default how to play a big flop

What's a good bet when you hit a big flop? I hate to check and let someone catchup for free. Obviously if the flop is 2 suited or connected you have to bet. But I'm talking about nonscary flops that you hit big. Min bets seem to scare everyone away. What's a good bet that looks like you're trying to steal? For example, I was in tourney, had K rag in sb, called, bb checked. Flop K K K. How can I get anything out of him. I didn't, checked it to river, min bet, he folded. That was a pretty scary flop, so would of been tough to get anything, probably easier with a bigger pot to begin with also. Any thoughts?

Well the flop you described was a little too big. I would generally bet at least 1/2 the pot, maybe full pot amount if mutiple players in the hand. A big flop like top 2, rainbow for example, bet the pot. But there are so many variables: Position, table dynamics (who plays what, how, when), players in the hand, how much money the other players have, etc, etc, etc. If you hit a full house on flop, let them catch up. Check/call, and pop it way up on river, all in. If they are committed, and have caught up, they'll call. If not, the pot still got shipped to you anyways... Peace

Thats a bad example with a KKK flop.Won,t get any action there. As posted earlier it all depends on the chip stacks and what stage of the tourament your at.But if its SB vs BB a standard C-bet will usually make them think its a standard play at the pot disguising your hand strength.Vary your bets to keep them guessing as well.

With KKK I would check flop and half pot bet the turn. They may fold anyway, but if they have an A, may call thinking you are just trying to steal.

Here is a slight variation to my question, which is realy what I was after. You flop a hand, say 2 pair (top 2), bet around pot, have 1 caller, flop is 2 suited, you've seen this guy chase flushes and str. and can be pretty sure he has flush draw. Turn is nothin, say you have 20 blinds, pot is 1/3 of your stack, middle stages of tourney. Do you c'bet, keep it below pot, still not good call for flush draw, then check/fold if flush hits, still having 15 blinds, or go allin, make him risk it all to chase, risking it all yourself if he does and gets lucky?

    Regarding the second hand:

Since you're so sure he's on a flush draw and he's gonna chase it you gotta bet pot sized or even overbet here.

Your way ahead here and you're getting your money in good, overbetting/pot size betting the turn will mostly likely get him to fold his hand.

If the flop comes KKK I would check in hopes of someone hitting a full house. If they hit the full house then you might be able to get a nice chunk from them. I know myself I usually don't ever think someone has quads because well they usually don't!!
