    Default # of blinds opinion

I always hear talk about how many blinds you have left and when you should push. In quite a few tournaments lately, it seems I go for long stretches with little to play. I'll work my way up to maybe 3 or 4 times starting stack. I'll be well enough above 10-12 blinds so I'll continue to play pretty tight. As the bubble approaches though, it seems all of a sudden the blinds go up, maybe I'll play a hand and lose and all of a sudden I only have 7-8 blinds. I'm beginning to think instead of worrying about how many current blinds I have, I should be basing my play on how many blinds I have left at next level, since it will be there pretty soon. Any thoughts?

In that stretch of playing tight before the bubble make some blind steals vs players that give it up. Use your image to your advantage.

That is kinda my pt. You can steal some blinds and maintain your stack, then blinds go up, one of those blind stealing ventures goes bad and all of a sudden you only have 8 blinds left instead of 14 or 15.

if your not getting wining hands worth showing down then you need to double barrel and make moves on turn/rivers. Use your image to your advantage, else your going to have to gamble.

It's always a good idea to keep an eye on the next level especially if you are under 20 bb's. Late in tourneys that next level could be a killer.

As far as stealing blinds, when you are that short it gets difficult to steal from big stacks. You need to keep an eye on the mid to shorter stacks for blind stealing imo.

I agree with T.F. way 2 tuff 2 steal from the chippies leaders when the blinds r way up there..always its very beneficial to know how many bb blinds u have before the levels goes up. esp. where u at in comparison to the payouts and bubble

i also agree with the point about being hard to steal from the bigstacks, i tried it many times when i was shortstacked, its like they have a magnet pointed at my chips cause they will call with bottom pair low kicker, maybe they are saying "its only a few chips"

I think it is easy to steal blinds sometimes. But conversely, sometimes you are just at the wrong table for that stuff. Table dynamics and your observations should guide you in almost all cases. It is a gamble though either way. But one thing that helps me to fire out on the flop with nothing is this: Heads up, there is a 68% chance that your opponent totally missed the flop (not accounting for draws like flush or str8). Assistanc3, that is correct, isn't it? A continuation bet is profitable, in position, with up to 3 people seeing the flop (including yourself), more often than not. Any more than 3 involved, no c-betting. Just try to know who the calling stations are, and avoid bluffing or c-betting against them, it will just backfire. But, on the other hand, if you actually make a hand, these calling stations will more than likely double you up. I ramble on and on, sorry. Peace.

I consider next phase blinds but the other players stacks too. If you are too behind the avg u might get on push or fold before you would usually do
