Thread: Tournaments Strategy?

i have been asking this question of myself for a long time now and i still don't have a real solid answer but i will give it a shot. i seem to do well in a tournament when i play the first few levels extremely tight then when i see that people are starting to play a little bit timid i take advantage of them. i find that if you do this for about a round then some people see what you are doing and try to out play you. this is the point where i wait for a big hand and play it like i am trying to make a move and they play back at me. it seems to work well for me.

you might try to loosen up some early with decent drawing hands while the blinds are low such as low pairs trying to set mine or with suited connectors and see the flops cheaply.. later on if you loosen up then the blinds are bigger therefore more of your stack is in jeopardy seeing flops with hands such as these. your table image might also be looked at as one who will only play big hands and you may not get action when you do get a big hand because of your tight image.

It is dependent upon how my table is playing. If I see spots where I can get in cheap in later position with some good prospective hands (SC, sm pp) then I will.
Generally speaking,.. it table is tight I will open up my opening range a bit,.. it it is loose, I will tighten up.
