    Default RAZZ JAZZ, Bluffing?

Be wary of bluffing in Razz. Usually, players have pretty much the same hand that you see represented on the table, so it is foolish to keep raising the bets just to "keep the others honest."
You obviously don't play Razz, if you can't bluff you will lose money at Razz. I expect around 60% of hands are won by bluffing
Razz is VERY much a luck based game
Most times I can look at what you are showing and know if I'm beat or if I've got you.
you get see the other players cards and its easy to determine who possibly has the best hand or is just bluffing
These are a few quotes about Razz from other threads. I wanted to use these to express how little consolidated knowledge there is about this game. CLEARLY, there are differring opinions. Some even go as far as to say "its a luck based game". It makes me laugh because it is no more luck based than any other form of poker?

However, the one I wanted to ask about is the controversy of bluffing. One player said around 60% of the hands are won off of bluffs... using their door cards. Do you agree or disagree? What has been your success with bluffing in Razz?

I think some of these quotes are hilarious, people move to a game that "seems" relatively simple and leave their strategy for Hold'em...

    What do you think?

I'm gonna post up a private Razz SNG on carbon some point today. I'll give everyone a heads up in another thread, but I've really got the RAZZ bug. I don't know why people have no interest.

I know this is a repeat of the first post, but I still want some opinions on the original topic. Bluffing in Razz

I love Razz. Sure, there is luck, but there is a lot of math as well. Take advantage of others board cards to see what is NOT available in the deck for you to draw. It is amazing the number of players who cannot figure out when they are board-blocked (knowing that one is drawing dead simply by seeing another's board). I find that playing against a bluffer is funny. Somehow they think that NLHE strategy applies to limit Razz, lol. Bluffing does play a more important roll in the later stages when bet size to chip-stack becomes more painful.

I really cant see the wisdom of trying to bluff at razz if you have half a brain you can pretty well figure from seeing your own cards and the ones that are showing of your opponets that you can tell if they have you beat or you have them so I really dont see much validity of the bluffing though I myself had have people try to bluff me out of hands in it and badugi both

Ahh thats the thing. People assume the "simplicity" implies that you can read so much easier. Just like in holdem you can see a RANGE of hands the person may have. Chances are you yourself have been bluffed plenty of times assuming you can figure out what ur opponent is holding.

I play ring Razz games and there are guys I see who constantly bet with solid door cards. They actually come out pretty well from what I've seen because they take down so many pots. It is very interesting to me.
