omaha straights
in omaha i do everything with caution. i would rather win a little than lose a lot. i don't really care about the rake--it's kinda like giving a tip.

i'm absolute crap at omaha high, but have not done badly on hi low just by sheer idiocy...or maybe cos it vacillates so wildly it resembles heads up...who knows...?
once i sat out in a game and came in third...
what does that tell ya...
lol
hold'em still remains the best game for me...and i still ain't got no patience...well, a bit more
instead of giving up smoking...which i don't
i should use giving up impatience with hypnotism...might work...who knows?

Was deep into a Poker Stars Omaha MTT the other night, and had no bother folding my flopped nut straight when bet into by a very tight player - I put him on the same hand, but with outdraws. As my tourney life was at stake I think it was a sensible fold. This same player had/did fold his SB to me multiple times, so credit where it's due was my feeling.
As a matter of interest, I wonder what the odds were for me winning the hand if he was holding a set plus outside flush draw?Last edited by samsmoot; 06-14-2010 at 03:28 AM.

I know Im really late asking this,
OMAHA HI - Its a waste of time playing anything below 8 unless you have trips or some flush or straight or does anything under 8 not even apply to your hand. DAMN IM gonna be lost in about 20 minutes Everything 8 or higher is good to go (I HAVE READ BOBS PAGE - WIKIPEDIA PAGE and some others and they dont really go very deep- HEY BOB YOUR OMAHA PAGE COULD GO A LITTLE DEEPER to us lost folks LOL and not combine hi/lo with just hi)
HI - LO THE LOW (I know its not low but basically no pairs no nothing just 5 cards with the lowest being the winner, no low pairs or low trips just individual low cards is what you want - IS THIS RIGHT
This actually seems like a fun game but Im really lost right now, so YALL DONT HAVE TO PUT ME ALL IN on the first hand, OK LOL

That Fulltlilt Tournament book has a short section on each of the games (for Tournament play). Lots of cool tips in there & well worth reading for sure!!

I don't play much Omaha but I have started to dabble and I took down an Omaha Hi freeroll tonight on Full Tilt.
It's an enjoyable game and I find that you become alot more familiar with it pretty quickly by playing.
It also helps if alot of the other players can't fold AA.
I'm gone a bit off topic there but you want to try to hit a monster draw and if you have the nut str8 you should bet it big.
It helps if you have a redraw to a higher str8 or a flush draw too.
At one stage tonight I flopped the nut str8 and got all in against 2 shorter stacks.
One of them had the same str8 and hit a runner runner full house and the other guy hit a flush but what can ya do?
