i don't quite get the low in omaha when 2 players have almost the same hands. what determines the winning hand?

When it comes to comparing low cards to win the low share of the pot, the cards cannot contain anything higher than an 8 card.

The winner of the low hand is the hand that has the lowest low cards. For example a hand of 3,4,5,6,7 is better than A,2,3,4,8. As the first hand has the lower cards i.e. the 7 instead of the 8.

The best possible low hand is A,2,3,4,5.

Hope that helped clear it up a little bit, it tok me a while to get my head round it when i started playing omaha h/l and stud h/l.

thanks that does clarify things. i expected to win a few times by having the ace as lowest card not paying particular attention to my second card. your advice will save me $ in the future. thank you.

Theres another way to look at it..

Just look at the cards beggining for the higuest to the lowest to see the LO hand

For example...

A2458........ 8542A

23457......... 75432

If you compare those two numbers, you'll see that the second is lowest than the first.

Best regards
