can someone explain badugi to me

i tried to play the other week and didnt realize what i signed up for. tried to get some players to explain it to me and they were asses about it. so by the time i found the basic rules i was near out. so i have only been able to try twice since. what would have been the problem with letting me know what I was playing? at least the basics? it was a free roll. The manners on some of the sites have really gone to pot.
