Default Better than Holdem?

I’ve always only played Texas Holdem. Do you guys think Omaha is better than holdem?

I've been told that Texas Holdem is the post popular kind of poker, and I find it much better than 5 card draw, but I have never tried Omaha.

What are the differences?

IMHO nothin beats no limit holdem

playing stud, draw or limit holdem you've got to play more like a machine and a bit of a calling station because your hand develops everytime you get cards, holdem your mostly there in one go - the flop

in limit you have to keep raising / calling all along the way to get as much out of a hand as you can

not for me - i like the subtle craftyness of no limit - and the danger that you or another player could be in at anytime

There is no other card game better than texas holdem. For me, Pinochle is a close second.

Omaha takes entirely too much thinking and effort.

Its nearly impossible to play 3 omaha games at once. Even 2 holdem and one omaha is a strain.
In Omaha you are dealt 4 hole cards only 2 of which you use to make your hand. So you have to figure out what you have and possibly could have with each combination of hole cards, like I said alot of work.
I do think playing Omaha and Stud can improve your hold'em game

Omaha definitely takes more thought. There's probably a good side to that, however. If you're good at it, which unfortunately I'm not, you probably have a somewhat greater advantage over the average player than if you're good at holdem.

Default omaha

i remember the 1st time i saw it on tv at wsop or might have been wpt an i thought my tele was bust. there was cards flyin around everywhere on the odds thing in the corner. hands kept changing i was total blown away. had to go away and find the rules 2 have even the 1st clue what they were doin. big respect to daniel negreanu the way he can play so many different games and be good at them all. dunno how the bloke making the pictures of the cards and the odds and outs kept up with it ! then again it must be a computer or something or they put it all on after for the tv. im gona stick with nl holdem i cant even cope trying to win at limit anymore.

I'm a holdem man myself, but to each his own!
