Question What would YOU do?

Open Forum Question:-

By some quirk of fate YOU are asked to run a Poker tournament to decide who is the best Poker Player on The Earth, The Top three players are off to fight for ALL of the Human Race in a Inter Galactic Poker Tournament, If "OUR" team Lose we ALL DIE.

Set out below in full detail how you would run this tournament, including Type of Game/Games played, Blinds Structure, buy in', clock time, starting chips etc etc.

Simple, get the best Badugi players in the world to play, the aliens wouldn't stand a chance and would be insane after the first blind level.

Default challenge them to HORSE BBC

hi

I think I would have to challenge them to HORSE BBC

BTW as reported a couple of years ago by our crack reporter Don Kiddick -

Proof Aliens play poker

as he exclusively uncovered for us the aliens landed in Wiltshire, England on the way to the WSOP

Anyway back to the game I would suggest we would play HORSE with the added variations of Badugi, 3 card brag & Cups

Even if we were losing we would take it all on Cups as you basically make the rules up so any hand you have wins

cheers scrawnybob

The way some players act at the table, I think they are aliens!

How to run the tournament:

1. Change the prize structure--tell them if we lose they can have our best poker player and do whatever they want with him...so Phil Hellmuth would be on the block.
2. Make a rule change: Anyone found eating humans at the poker table is disqualified
3. Play Razz--only a few people on Earth play the game, so there are certainly no aliens who have.

By the way, I heard that this poker game was already conducted 8 years ago and the prize was that George Bush would be the leader. Yeah, we lost that poker tournament.

I wouldn't. I'd get Greg Raymer, Daniel Negreanu, and Phil Ivey to play. There's no other better team of three than those people.

I m convinced the best idea will be an HORSE-Event with bilinds raising very slow.
It is the most difficult poker tournament and if you choose some pros like the last top3 of the last years (1 of them is unfortunately not at this earth any longer)

then we have a good chane

Talking Aliens

The type of game to be played would depend on what type of aliens you were up against.

If they were slow, lumbering types, Snap would be as good as any other game.

If they were slow thinkers, virtually any game with, say, 7 second thinking time would do for them.

I sure Sun Shu, or whatever his name was, would hold the answers - something along the lines of 'To know your enemy is to defeat your enemy'!!
