Default not sure but

hi

I'm not sure (and expect GT etc to jump in with the right answer)

but I think ace king suited + ace king other suited is suposed to be the best starting hand

another good starting hand would be 2 sets of suited cards all in an open ended run ... but thinking about that a bit more that might not be 100% as your only using 2 hole cards max (my omaha is rusty and never good in the first place)

so AK same suit with JQ same other suite would seem like a good start

or KQ same suit with J 10 same other suit

but I'm probably wide of the mark the more I think about it (move to delete reply)

thinking about your hand suggestion there must be something in not having a "missing K" as the basic structure is two suited x 2 - giving run, straight & high pairs / full house potential ... anyway

this is definately for omaha hi ... as with hi/lo (again rusty) you want good shot at both the high and the low end pots ... so that makes is even more involved

then I think after the above types of combinations your looking at 2 aces with 2 another cards of same suits - eg ace 9 hearts + ace 7 clubs as this gives you a high pair you might end up using or ace rag to make the nut flush

anyway really hoping the knowleagble ones jump in asap

cheers scrawnybob

ps. I will be fixing up a HORSE game at some point ... as it's about time I got a better all round game and I'm sure everyone else would like to either try it for the hell of it or to improve too.

I think if I've got 2 pair, I'm gonna hang in there for the last card. Never know when you might hit a full house. Ofcourse this depends on a lot of factors.(cost, position, number of players in the hand, etc.)

You got one part correct , you want the j10 off , but with two aces to make it suited,
AAJ10 .

Why this hand ? I would have to write down a whole blog about it .

Basically comes down to , if opponent holds KKQ7 or simular , and a kq drop on board , you would still have outs to win the pot , either way if the board doesnt pair up. makes sence ? and the double suits make it easier to make a flush but thats obvious ...
And you got crack hands like 67QK, if he does add up with 8 9 to make a straight you would have the higher end of it with the j10 .

The aces speak for themselves..

Good luck in carbon and titan game today , i will not play as usual ...Work tommorow. ..

a couple weeks ago i didn't really care for omaha...still don't like the hi/low variation but im liking omaha alot more now that i kinda know what i am doing....still get hung up once in a while that you HAVE to use 2 cards from your hand...but since i got that free money on pokerari i have been playin it quite a bit and with my $20 from the monthly posting jackpot i figured i would try out a lil tourny on tilt here is the result of my first try@ omaha hi on tilt

No its not the best hand in Omaha Hi

AKs AKs ( doubble suited) is, but I like any 2 pairs in my hand with a three card gap ie. things like 88 QQ etc etc, altho its not the best starting hand persay, as I like to slowroll every thing in Omaha Hi I tend to feel I have more Maths for any turn plays, and more time to dump My hand is I feel I need to.

I wouldnt play Omaha Hi no limit, with out a very large bankroll, I also stay away from ANY Hi/lo game in Live Play.

Anyway

Playwell
