    Default Razz

If anyone likes Razz, Absolute has a $3 MTT buyin at 21:45 EST w/ about 50 players or so. I have played it 4 times since I found it last week, and cashed four times.

AP has the same tourny in the afternoon here at 3:15pm i think. That would be 8:15pm for many Europeans, and maybe a more realistic game to participate in.

I'm OK. Razz is very mechanical, so it takes a disciplined player with a system.

Doo, the tightest razz players will not play a hand unless their first 3 cards are 7 or below. I feel thats too tight, so at an 8 man table I wont play unless I have 3 cards 8 or under to start. Obviously there are exceptions, like in a tourny if the blinds are getting up there and you have chips. In that situation you may want to buy some pots if you are showing an ace or two and all others look weak. Also as the table starts to dwindle to less players, your average hands become good hands. For example at a 5 or 6 man table, 3 cards 9 or less is most likely the best starting hand at the table. Hope these couple nuggets have been helpful.

    thanks Dolly.

playing the cheap fulltilt sngs myself...started well but failed to cash in last four.

think the key to these may be to sit very tight until two or three eliminated and then start with three to a 7.think the mistake I made was raising on third street as still a long way from a made hand...gonna persevere anyway.

Its a very fun game Lacy, and freerolls are a great place to learn the game. When you get to the point where youre comfortable playing for real money, i would just caution that they players will playa lot different. In a freeroll, you have 6/8 players in each hand hoping to get lucky. At a real money table, there will only be 2-3 people in each hand on average and they will have good sarting hands (3 good cards). This means with 4 cards left, they need to get help on 2/4 cards. If you start a hand w/ only 2 good cards, it will be very difficult to get the help you need on 3 of the next 4 hands.

Absolute poker has a 50 cent razz sng i think. If they do that might be a good intermediate step betwwen freerolls and "real" money. Good luck!!!
