Thumbs down HollywoodPoker ,, be vary vary careful,,

I remember winning some money at Hollywood poker when Bob last held some games there. But I have $$ scattered over 28 poker sites and I like to only play forum Buy-ins and don,t have the time or want to play Ring games.Since 4king and Bob quit holding games there I neglected the site.I can,t play 28 sites all the time and i don,t want to in summer. And for some reason which i forget now I had to register a secondary email address with Hollywood Poker. So I i missed there new Rules, regulations and policy where they can just STEAL your money. So be warned if you have any Hollywood $$$ because i complained asn received no sympathy for them STEALING my $$$ outright....

    Please be informed that

Thats right,,,,, $10 a month til they take it all. !! I said less than $1 could be conceived a dead account and not worth the maintenance bother. But $10 ?? They had my wrong email which i don,t read and basically ROBBED me. Sure i should check all my 4 email accounts regularily so its half my fault.I forget why i had to use a secondary email account to register. But to just blatently STEAL my $$$. I said no other of my 28 other poker sites where I have $$ have ever done this before. And they don,t give a flying F*ck (excuse my French) was the response I received back from them......
Be forwarned ,, have to play once a month or lose it $10 ,,
They won,t see any action from me,,,

I was surprised for this Rg, because i play there from time to time and never had a problem, the assistant is very helpful and even if not play for 2 or 3 months never charge so far, also donīt remember they change terms and conditions this year (at least not remember get any news).

We all have many sites and agree that we canīt play every site in regular way, so if some site charge you for not playing in a couple of months i do agree is a steal, but if they charge after 6 months or 1 year then i think is the player fault.

Be forwarned ,, have to play once a month or lose it $10
How much time your account was inactive?, if you have less than 6 months with out play and they charge you then you are right and they are stealing from you and have all the rights to demand your money back.

    This are the rules there.

13.1 INACTIVE ACCOUNT FEES AND ABANDONMENT OF ACCOUNTS
If You do not access Your Account by 'logging on' to Your Account using Your Account name and password and either (i) place a cash wager or bet via the Services, or (ii) enter a tournament with a cash entry fee via the Gaming Services, or (iii) play a raked hand via the Gaming Services, for any consecutive period of 180 days, then after those 180 days (the 'Grace Period') Your Account (and any related account with any ESP) will be deemed 'Inactive'. We may notify you when your account is deemed inactive.

13.2 Once Your Account has been deemed Inactive We will be entitled to charge You an administrative fee (the 'Inactive Account Fee'). We may deduct an amount up to the Inactive Account Fee amount from Your Account Balance on the day following the end of the Grace Period and then every thirty (30) days thereafter in accordance with the Inactive Account Fee Schedule. If we continue to deem Your Account Inactive for a period of eighteen consecutive calendar months, we may close Your Account. You may contact us to reclaim any remaining withheld monies at any time, less any ongoing inactive account fees.

So, pretty much need to pass 6 months to they can charge you, like you mention the problem was that you use another email for this site (wich is not the site fault), but if only pass 1 month and they charge then is a steal, the 30 days fee every month apply only if already pass 6 months wich is when they put your account in inactive mode.

Yes, it sucks they charge $10 by month after account is set inactive (i donīt see amount in the rules), but i think this is not only Hollywood (ongame) policy, i remember reading this also in Party poker and other sites, reason why i never leave $ in a site if not plan to play there in some time, with all unsafety online, sites that close from 1 day to another, hacks of accounts, fees charged, etc, i really try to not have much in a poker site if not plan to play there soon, even in poker sites that play in regular basis try to not have nothing above bankroll needs.

The best is to keep only the amount of money necesary to play in a poker site/casino (your bankroll), but only if plan to play from time to time, if not then is best to cash out and if want to return later then deposit again, that way not worry for the $ in the site.

Sorry Rg, i know it sucks but is the standard in a lot of sites, not all of course, but like i say if only 1 month pass then talk to Bob and fight for your money back, if 6 months pass then is nothing to do.

i agree with logan. is hollywoodpoker the site endorsed by vince van patten? some sites start taking away your vip points if your not active but i never thought they would steal your cash. i try not to have more than a dozen sites at a time on my computer. easier for me to track and play at most of them this way.

Yes it is, before was also james woods but i think he step down, i like the site, software is good, unfortunately times of play there is mostly UK times so when i can play is not much action reason why just play from time to time, but cash out from there 3 or 4 times and never have a problem.

Agree also with that tking, i use to have a lot of sites too, in a point have 40 or something like that but notice that with more sites it takes a lot more time to grow your BR and can run a month with out play any game in a site, so i decide to cut most of them and not have more than 6-8, with this i can play more in each one (wich can grow BR faster).

Default personally I think this is a BAD practise

    hi

yep I think I remember this coming up with Party poker also - I hadnt heard about it on hollywood ... is this all ongame skins ???

personally I think this is a bad practise at the end of the day the players money is the players money and its really not doing anyone any harm sitting there

however I am guessing that there are benefits for the rooms accounting doing this - as I understand it most networks / duristictions insist on sites / rooms keeping player balances separate and ring fenced from the sites normal accounts etc ... this is to make sure the players balances are there ...

however if a site can reduce the amount needed to cover player balances while at the same time increasing their "earnings" by making the admin deduction ... this would gradually reduce their financial guarantees on the balances while increasing their actual profit

that doesnt condone it however - I dont think this is a fair charge or something sites should do ... they should if anything be using this as a reactivation tool to get inactive players back at the tables

    cheers Scrawnybob

No Bob thats why I posted. Its a new Policy that Hollywood Poker just implemented at the end of March. And if players have money there they will get an email warning so that seems fair. Its just for some reason the email I used for Hollywood Poker is not my primary email and missed my notification. When i did check for this email it said my account was deemed inactive and if i didn,t deposit more money or play some games they would deduct $10. And that what happened so I have 90 cents left there now,, lol

In this week read Carbon termns and conditions and surprise that it say the same, after 180 days of inactivity they can ban your account and money could be forfeit.

So becareful too if let money hanging.
